M2C 19" Square Track Wheel/Tire combo
Has anyone with an M2 Competition swapped to a 19" square wheel & tire combo for track use? Trying to avoid replacing the brakes to go down to an 18" wheel. Any help or insight is appreciated!

Use Rays TE37. It clears everything. Probably 18" can handle M2C 6-4 setup.

We have a couple drivers running our 19x9" ET30 SM-10 wheels as a square fitment. These are for a winter setup with 245/35-19 tires. We are planning on producing our standard M2-specific widths and offsets in a 19" diameter later this year. Wheel specifications will be 19x9.5" ET28 front and 19x10.5" ET40 rear for those that desire a staggered fitment. A rotatable square setup can also be achieved using the 19x9.5" ET28. EDIT: We are now in production! LINK --Dylan

No point in running a skinny 255 on the rear of a M2. The narrowest I'd go is 265 or really 275 ideally if I was going square. I previously ran a 275 square on 18x10. Not sure if a 275 square would fit on a 19".

I run 19x10.5 ET45 and 295/30 R7’s in the back and am dropped 18mm. I don’t think a 295/30/19 R7 will fit in the back on a lowered car with ET40. The clearance is tight on the outside.
I don’t know the exact clearance left inside the rear, but I know there’s room. My current setup clears with no rubbing, so maybe ET45-46 is the way to go to make sure all types of aftermarket suspension clear on the inside. The big question is can I get a 305/30 RE-71R to fit with these specs. I haven’t tried it yet, but I think so bc the R7 is so wide. I would have bought 19x10.5 Apex’s if the ET was more than 40. You guys should mount up some 295 & 305/30s on your 19x10.5 ET40 wheels and put them on a lowered M2 and let us know. Last edited by ZM2; 01-08-2019 at 05:35 PM.. |

There are reports of the 265/35-19s in front rubbing, even on stock suspension. Lowering would probably make things worse. I doubt a 275 would work at all in front. The only way I could see a wide 19 working in front is with a 30-series, and nobody makes such a beastie in a 200tw. That what folks running track or autocross would need to go really w-i-d-e.

I'm on 255 35 19 PS4S at front and 20mm lowered by MPS.
My front wheel spec is 9J ET22, 7mm poker than stock. The front end is just a paper thickness away from rubbing on full steering turn. There is absolutely no room for bigger tire or more lowering. Keep in mind, above I'm talking about rubbing on full turn.

I wanted to follow up here with some great news. We now have both square and staggered 19" fitments in production and available for pre-order that will clear the M2C brakes and maximize tire width options.
We chose the EC-7 design since it looks great, and is a bit more affordable than our SM-10 and FL-5 designs. The APEX 19" M2 Competition track fitments are: Square: Front & Rear: 19x9.5" ET28 with 265/30-19 tires - Slight front negative camber requiredStaggered: Front: 19x9.5" ET28 with 265/30-19 tires Rear: 19x10.5" ET40 with 285/30-19 tires - Direct fit with slight front negative camberThese sizes are available now through a group buy which ends on 4/16/2019 at midnight Pacific time. Expected ship date is July. Anyone interested can sign up here. --Dylan

For a closer-to-OEM match, you may be able to use 255/35 front and 275/35 rear, but you'd be giving up additional grip and sidewall support vs. using our recommended sizes, and the fronts may still brush the fender liner on full-lock turns. --Dylan
