I have fitted the interior carbon trim today, it took approx 40mins and that's taking my time. It make a big difference and flows with all the carbon
First 2 pics are after I did the Job, 3rd pic is a stock pic. I started with the hand break, you have to pull it off, so I started with the hand break just in case I damaged the DCT carbon trim Next I used a very small flat head screw driver on the DCT logo centre piece, I wedged it in and rocked it up and down and I could see and hear the glue parting from the silver DCT trim. The rest was easy, a little screw and the silver trim removed. Trim around the DCT, here is a tip and found it made it easy and no damage, use a trim tool or a small screw driver on the inside not the outer edge. I pushed the DCT in reverse and pushed the tool in the inner section and it pushed the trim up and our with out any damage . Sorry I was intending to take pics at stages but it was cold and I just wanted it done. Sorry

Yes all OEM, I don't like the idea of adding third party parts. If I was buying a used M2 and it had third party parts on, I would give it a miss.

You can buy from your local dealer but they can be very expensive. Search Ebay uk you will find a couple of BMW dealers selling at discounted price. I got the DCT carbon set for £295 free Delivery, local dealer could match this price but I would have to collect. Normal price is £400 Steering wheel carbon trim was a bargain £175, a dealer had 2 and they went straight away. There is a couple of dealers selling for £225 free Delivery. Normal price £300. Very easy to install, just take your time .

I have a number of members asking if you can remove the carbon, I have attached a photo of the underside. As you can see you could remove the carbon if you remove the metal rings

Fitted 2 pieces of mine at the weekend, however, I got stuck on the DCT gear lever. Stubborn plastic trim means I now have a damaged shifter, and its still the original.
I tried tiny flat head (i.e. glasses repair), a larger one and I'm still stuck. Any additional advice? I've watched a number of You Tube videos including IND and I'm doing nothing different. All the discount I got on the parts is now wiped out by having to replacing the damaged part FFS. Grrr. |

For those thinking of doing this, use a pair of dikes and cut the rings off and reinstall w/new rings. |

I did put some info at the beginning of the thread, i hope this helps you more. I pushed the trim tool in the gap of the trim and the DCT gear leave (red arrow) on photo , you will see the front of the trim bend up and un hook.
