M2C painting wheels?

Just bought an M2C in black. I hate the 788 bicolor wheels color (mostly silver). Anybody have them (or similar BMW wheel) painted? Does it ruin their value or performance (weight)?

No, go for it. Have them media blasted and powered coated black. A couple members on here have plans to do that when they get their cars.

honestly, i'd just sell and find some wheels you like. powder coated wheels seems like a cheesy option for a brand new and fairly expensive car

How are powder coated wheels cheesy? Sounds like you're clueless.

OP, do it! I'm sure itll look great. Maybe bronze?

All black 788s will not look good, imo. I'd just buy 763s if you want black.

Don't powdercoat wheels. Painting is the way to go...most wheels even the most expensive are painted.

Search my posted threads. I did a photoshop of all black 788's. They look pretty darn nice imho.

Btw, before we knew black 788's are what they are, some of us through they were all black like what you are suggesting.

I seriously love this look, bravo!

Were these painted or powder coated? Also curious how they are holding up - rock chips, washing etc.

Thanks!

I had a set of 763s blasted then repainted black satin. Finish is perfect and I'm very happy with the results.

If you want a different color then change to what you want. It's your car and you aren't going to damage the wheels.

Anybody have any ideas for the 788s or seen a nice set painted? I like these silver ones a lot, but I think I want something different!

Someone on here has them painted dark bronze. I like that.

I think that bronze could look good on AW also.

That bronze looks great, would be curious how it would look on LBB. The gold 763s just don’t work right with the LBB in my opinion but bronze could be great

The look great. What was the painting procedure? Did you paint them yourself? Painting does seem to be the safe bet. Baking powdercoat onto forged wheels seems to be a bit controversial.
