I would be afraid that the suction cups. Wouldn’t hold on a longish drive. I have the BMW rack with two bike mounts.

I'll have one up for sale in a short bit. Need to find time to take some pics. I used the Komodo on my Cayman. Holds fine---yes, unnecessarily, you stay paranoid thinking the vacuum cups don't hold but they always do. There are some "safe guard" ideas one can implement if you're concerned. SeaSucker racks have been used, abused, all over the world and held up fine. They used them for the team cars with multiple bikes in the Tour de France. VERY hard to find negative accounts on the web of any failing. Just make sure to adhere to the instructions and check the vacuum every so often.

For me, I like the roof racks, I think they look fine and serve multiple purposes...like today I needed some lumber but had to have it cut down to fit the trunk...if I had a roof rack just strap it down and go. I wonder if the attachment is the same as the Porsche roof rack? Looks similar.

+1 for seasuckers. I've been using the talon to haul my gravel bike everywhere. Been on a 2+ hr ride on the freeway going ~85 consistently without any hiccups.

the first few times, I did pull over a few times to double check the suction, but now-a-days, I'm slapping them on and off I go.

Which hitch rack do you have on your car?
Stealthhitches.com hitch with a KUAT Sherpa rack

How hard was the installation on your stealthhitches rack? One of the comments on their website says you need to cut away part of the diffuser.

Thanks! Just be aware photos have a way with this color for sure; it does have a fire effect in the sun that makes it seem a bit orange and at night a deeper red. When the life on this wrap is expired I will likely find something a bit deeper and similar to Imola Red.

FINZ! the Guy with the M Coupe? We met at Sebring once.

Not hard, they give you measurements to go by on where to center the hole. I trimmed it out after the job with some rubber U channel trim to give it a more finished look. I cut the 4 corners with a hole saw and used a dremel for the rest. At $90 for a new diffuser I figured there was little to lose if I messed it up.

Yes, same guy, although I no longer have the Coupe. Sold it in 2019 and did Euro delivery, then US Performance Center delivery, on a 2020 M2C. Sunset Orange, MT.

Thanks for the insights in the rack!

Why didn’t they offer this color from the factory? That is just epic!

P.S. I had Thule racks before I tried Seasucker. Seasucker is the way to go without any doubt.

I feel much more comfortable with a rack screwed into the roof than suction cups. BMW rack all day for me.

Doesn't the Seasucker leave fine scratches on the paint?
