F87 M2 Pre-LCI Front Grill Badge Replacement

Hello all,

I just got my first M2, a 2017 in long beach blue. The previous owner debadged the front M2 grill logo. I was wondering if anyone has used this on a pre-LCI M2.

https://www.bimmerworld.com/Body-Aer...lle-Badge.html

I have seen at the bottom of the link where it says they are unsure of if it will work on the pre-LCI. If it is an adhesive attachment I think it should still work. Thanks for the help!

the M2 badge isn't removable from the pre-LCI grille, so unless it was cut off, they likely just swapped in a set of M240i dual slat grilles. Got a pic?

It looks like you would be correct. The adhesive one would potential fit between the dual slats?

looks like it clips on, so should work. alternative is swapping the center part of the grilles with stock ones

You need the stock M2 grill as the area where the emblem mounts to is a molded part of the slats.

I have an extra sitting in my garage. PM me if you're interested it in. Just pay for shipping

So you think the replacement badge will work? I’ll try that first as I like the black grilles. Thanks!

looking closer at the link you provided above, it does appear to only be the sticker part, not the base/clip. So I think you'll need to swap your CF frames onto a stock set of M2 kidney grilles (they are separate pieces)

Another interesting thing to note is the original grill slats are thinner than all aftermarket grill slats. I thought of debadging my grill for awhile too, and I searched forever and could never find a pair of grills with slats the same size as the originals.

You have the stock chrome ones or are they still black? And with the badge on it?

Just the lettering portion not the bracket but, Just buy someone's chrome set with the M2 grille badge and swap those surrounds with the black ones you have now.
