Funny story: When I bought the M2C back around New Years, my 15 yo daughter, said "your car is obnoxious and loud and I dont like it" and never wanted to go for a ride in it. Now with Covid, she likes to go on therapy drives with me daily (especially since she has AP exams etc), and lately she's been ok going in the M with me. I noticed she hasn't asked to take another car. I thought she secretly started to enjoy it. Today we were out for a spin, and I was doing my usual, shifting, driving spirited, revving high, and she says "why do you love to rev this car so much?". Firstly I had no idea she even knew the word rev (I mean these kids barely care to drive these days)...LOL! And then I said "that's how the car likes it, it drives and feels better", and she said " yeah, I know, its cool". Brought a big smile to my face. I MAY give her my M2 some day...I think she loves my M2
Your daughter is crafty and playing the long game to get your M2 hahaha.

Glad you're sharing these bonding moments with your car and daughter. These are definitely memorable moments and you also get to reach her your love of the car! Makes it much sweeter when she gets it

She's smart as a tack i wouldn't be surprised if she's gunning for my M2 someday. She already thinks my F10 is hers to drive exclusively when she gets her license. I know she has the same taste as me, so go figure.

The Lichtgrün is truly unique and looks great on what I gather is the GT3 RS.

Just our of curiosity, what is the top picture that is labeled Lichtgrün? Looks like a black carpet sample?

Haha. . . north of $200K as far as I know, picking out a GT3 RS color option is nothing I will ever lose sleep over. WAAAAYYYYY outside my pay grade.

That is such a lovely colour on that car and if I ever went for a 911 it would be that colour. I don't usually do loud colours apart from my orange k1300r but I would change my colourless life for this one. Your taste is good my man.

Haha! She likes the car, hates the frozen gold wheels, and mostly doesn't care as long as I keep the car longer than 6 months - which has been my average hold time.

Well this caught me a bit by surprise yesterday...my wife had to go into the office, and as she was about the leave, asks if she can take the M2. Gave her the thumbs up without even thinking about it.

I currently work from home full time and my makeshift office is in the upstairs bedroom, with my "desk" pushed up against the large window overlooking the street. I had the window open yesterday to enjoy the nice fresh rare clean air.

M2 was parked on the street in front of me, and I see my wife getting in the car. She looks at me as she gets in, I give her the thumbs up, and she closes the door. I look back down at my keyboard and....

.....THAT EXHAUST! Upon start up I couldn't help but smile. Then my wife pulls away and hearing that baby M rev in first gear as she drives away, the sound slowly fading as she drives further away, just music to my ears.

I know there are better sounding cars in the world, but damn if this thing doesn't just hit a sweet spot for me. I spent the rest of the day green with jealousy that my wife got to drive to work while I was stuck home working remotely with no M2 to take me anywhere.

One of the reasons I went with the M2C over comparable sports coupes was the usable backseat. Previously I was taking my 4 y/o son out on weekend drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway. But since I've been home more, I've been taking both my 4yo and 2yo out for some COVID therapy drives, and they love it. Last time my wife came too, and she was amazed - both kids start to squirm and whine after about half an hour in her SUV, but they were giggling in the backseat for hours with the M2C.

Me too. My kids could squeeze in the back of the 911 but it was getting too tight and dropping them off at school in the 911 looked like I was a monster squeezing them in back there. The M2C back seat is opulent and spacious by comparison. “Daddy’s race car”.

Yep. The usable back seat was a huge deciding factor. The kids for really well actually. 4 & 5 year olds.

Once she learns to drive, I highly recommend Tire Rack Street Survival, usually taught by BMW CCA members and held 1-2 times a year each area across the country. They teach looking ahead, emergency car control, ABS stopping, proper following distances and more in the students own cars. Don't let her take the M2C or she'll be hooked on it.

Great idea, I'll look into it, thanks! No M2 for her anytime soon for sure . I just feel so bad for her as she was to get her permit last month, but thanks to covid she's just losing time....I remember how much I wanted to drive and loved to drive when i was a kid.

I have owned 19 cars (I'm 34) and also tend to have the itch to buy something new after a year or so...but 1.5 years into the ownership of my M2C and I am not even considering giving it up, love it!

Some previous cars I've owned that stand out are the Shelby GT350, Z3 M Coupe, E36 and E46 M3, F80 M3, 2 997's, M2 LCI, and Fiesta ST.

The only 2 things that annoy me are the rev hang when upshifting and how high the seat sits compared to a M3/M4. Otherwise everything else is great, and from the factory is a super capable machine.

Still liking the Hockenheim? I haven't decided between an M4cs or M2 ZCP but my two color choices are yours and BSM.

Love HS. It's a beautiful color, always sparkling and changing. No regrets at all.
