The yellow Porsche may be the happiest looking car I've ever seen. Just look at it sitting there smiling! Just fantastic.

It seriously looks like an extra from Thomas the Tank Engine. I will never understand what they were thinking when they came up with this design. But it's nice you like it.

after my first 981S and the debacle of c7 ownership for 3 weeks, I test drove a 991.1, I didn't like it as much as 981S, the 7 speed was not as good as the 6 speed in the cayman, but it also felt big and I missed the direct immediate sensations of having the engine right behind you |

I know when I test drove the 991 while I had a 981, it felt big whereas when I test drove an OG m2 when I had the 981, it did not feel big It may well be that the lower seating position in the 991 means that the edges of the car are less easy to sense and so that makes it feel bigger overall... nice garage btw |

Love the 2020 M2Competition
My 8th BMW and so far the best! 3 California track days behind me, 5.5K miles, and loving everything about this car, especially its Long Beach Metallic paint. I turned in my 2017 340i 4-mo early to buy this car. Never looked back. 6-sp manual.

It's a PTS color called Lichtgrün (previously birch green). Porsche color introduced in 1975. You cannot get a good picture of it. Some People hate it in pictures. Everyone who sees it in real life changes their mind! It's not a color for everybody and that's ok. I like color on cars. My wife (and friends) couldn't believe I got boring silver on the M2. I told them it was a cool metallic silver that looks different at night and in the sun and it brings back memories of my first BMW which was silver.

I agree the M2 needs to be experienced in order to be enjoyed. Just looking at it can be deceiving; no real wow factor (besides the fangs) but it is a fun drivers car.
For the those of us that had old e36/46 ///M3's, the M2 is like being back in an old friend. Short wheelbase, RWD, MT, a solid clutch, and no perceivable wheel hop. Plus monster brakes. Perhaps one of the last German built. Not quite a long distance car, but a fun daily driver absolutely. I've more recently had 2 F80s & 2 F90s; enjoyed the speed in f90s but they required more concentration vrs engagement. If my left leg didn't work then it would be a diff story. |

I had my Dinan tuned 135i for 11 years before I got my M2C - I can't imagine ever getting rid of the M2C!!!
It's my daily driver and by far my favorite car ever! |

I was against the M2C the entire way since I hated the S55 in the F80. After a test drive on a whim, I was pleasantly surprised. I test drove it 2 more times to be sure I liked it. Still on the fence, I pulled the trigger anyways since I was getting tired of planning for days where I'd have to carry a moderate sized box in the 991.1 C2S I was using as a daily. I had 3 different variations of 991.1s, GT350R, F80, Camaro SS, Fiesta ST, amongst a couple dozen others. The M2C isn't the best at anything but it's great at everything. I drive a lot and use it as a daily so that's perfect for me.
It's surprisingly good on track as well. Part of my ritual of car ownership is taking every new car out to the track to do a few laps after break in. They'll never go back out but it's my way of welcoming them to the family. The M2C is better than any of the street 911s I've had in terms of balance. It's super easy to drive and crazy fun. I'm tempted to take it out on track all the time but then have to remind that it's a street car that doesn't truly belong on track. Getting the MP Exhaust closed the gap with the 911 in terms of sound. The ride quality is comparable. Street handling is a bit softer. Overall, I definitely like it way better than I thought I would!

The new Fiesta ST surprised me. Its a HUGE step above the previous model (based on reviews). I had a 2017 Fiesta ST and while it was fun for a little, it didnt have much in the way of giving you that great sports hatch feel. I guess in my mind the Old FiST compared to the new one is like the Veloster Turbo compared to the Veloster N

I had an '18 and it was still one of the best street cars for the money for sale in the US at the time. Super tight chassis, fast steering rack, and lots of feel. I did wish it had a little extra power.

I don't have an M2C, but I have an M2, and honestly wasn't that impressed from the test drive. I guess I just couldn't appreciate all the little differences it offered in such a short period of time. I left without the car.
But even so, something about it kept at me. I have loved the looks from the beginning, and the sound, but still wasn't sure about it. A dealer close to me ended up getting a low-mileage M2 in the exact configuration I would have purchased, and the deal was done. The drive home was long, about 300 miles, and I never stopped grinning. And honestly, 8 months on, I like the car more and more every day. Yes, a good purchase indeed, just wish I would have been able to get it new so the condition would have been perfect, instead of close to perfect. |

I've never had an older M car, however the first Sports car that i bought and really fell in love with was my 2016 BRZ. Funny enough the M2 feels A LOT like it, just with a ton more power. Its very planted, you can kick the rear out very easily and have a ton of fun in the car and its big enough to deal with being a daily while small enough to really feel like a good sports car.

I'll tell you why: This is the most engaging car I've had. It begs to be driven hard and there is no other way. If you dont drive her hard every moment, you cant love her enough.
Funny story: When I bought the M2C back around New Years, my 15 yo daughter, said "your car is obnoxious and loud and I dont like it" and never wanted to go for a ride in it. Now with Covid, she likes to go on therapy drives with me daily (especially since she has AP exams etc), and lately she's been ok going in the M with me. I noticed she hasn't asked to take another car. I thought she secretly started to enjoy it. Today we were out for a spin, and I was doing my usual, shifting, driving spirited, revving high, and she says "why do you love to rev this car so much?". Firstly I had no idea she even knew the word rev (I mean these kids barely care to drive these days)...LOL! And then I said "that's how the car likes it, it drives and feels better", and she said " yeah, I know, its cool". Brought a big smile to my face. I MAY give her my M2 some day...I think she loves my M2 |
