You will see him overtake...pretty much everyone (including track prepped E46 M3s, E92 M3s several GT3s), in cases when he could not overtake due to power, he was constantly behind them (it is a 258hp N52 engine FYI).

A well setup car AND a good driver = win.
You forgot one thing. Chasing someone in a car that you know is faster than yours is good for 1-2 seconds a lap.

@ Hockenheim Sportauto test the OG M2 had 400PS and the M2C 418PS so the difference is a bit less than '30'

The 1.12.2 OG M2 laptime was driven by Uwe Sener as I recall, M2C laptime by Christian Gebhardt. Who did 1.12.8 in OG M2 IIRC...(?)

So there are a lot of factors(including ambient/tarmac temp!)

Cheers

It definitely clouds you sometimes i know, it could be dangerous since your heart is pumping and you really get motivated to push a little bit more....that is how i see a lot of drivers spin but if you keep your cool, yes it is one hell of a motivation indeed.

There is no way in hell. Must of been a warm up lap for the GT3. I have both of these cars, M2/M2C is no slouch but not even close to a GT3.

Fun video to watch, but I agree. Looks like 2 instructors having some fun while a bunch of guys in nice cars learn the track...

991(2) GT3/RS is arguably the best street/trackcar for sale on the planet atm. By far & no doubt.

But I quote myself

Ha yes. Don’t forget the dry mouth. It’s quite a rush. To be honest this video brought back lots of memories. Loved it.

Indeed.

Even for people well off, writing off a $180k GT3 might be a hard pill to swallow, not to mention that if they special ordered their car, they cannot replace it because of the limited production run.

Many factors come into play.

What a beautiful track though...

Would love to see the footwork, or does the new M2C have that auto rev matching doo-dad?

Yeah not even close. Any generation GT3 would walk an M2C at the track considering equal drivers. The 991.2 GT3 is a freak of a street car. Nothing compares to the street manners combined with track ability combined with reliability of an off the shelf car.

That P car walks away from the Alfa every single turn and almost disappears at times with ease at will on the straights.

Love that track.

Alfa Looks like a handful. to drive in corners ...lots of correction... (watching the hands)

yikes.

Porsche driver not a very good race driver. Looked like a lot of fun anyway. M2 driver was much better driver.

NO offence to the driver of M2, he is good. But you cannot compare the M2 comp to a GT3. The GT3 flew past him like he was standing still.

Having a good car doesn't make you a good driver. I've driven several times to Mugello Circuit with my stock 1M and I passed lots of Ferrari, Porsches etc. I'm not a good driver, but maybe someone is even worse than me
At the same time, I wasn't able to overtake a very well driven 130i (with lots of mods actually).

Dial out some of the mid/exit understeer and this car will be great on track. I'm wondering (hoping?) if maybe a square set up will do the trick.

Not enough. You’ll need camber plates to have decent wear up front, I’d guess. Remember there’s more weight up front.

The F80/82 responds very well to camber plates. I just installed mine, and it is still daily driveable, with a small increase in stiffness and harshness up front.

I didn't find the M2C driver that good to be honest. I mean he's ok and all but I wasn't that impressed and I thought he did a rather lousy job going in too hard on the corners. There's zero chance he could take on that Ferrari which at quick glance looks like a 488 either. 2.8 second 0 to 60, 700+HP and 400+ pounds lighter. Hah! Good luck with that.

Right near the end of the video it's like the GT3 has had enough and just dusts the M2C. It was kind of fun to watch but I'll take the Ferrari or GT3 any day for only what...$100k more? lol
