Here are some Sunset Orange photos on a Cloudy Chicago day:
...and yes, as soon as it's warmer I will paint the muffler.

I'd always thought I was going to get HS but when I went for a test drive earlier in the week, saw a SO in the showroom as well and it just grabbed both my wife and my attention. Been deliberating over which colour to pick obsessively all week and then saw your pics this morning which helped me decide!
Placed an order tonight for a 6MT m2 comp in sunset orange with the "black" wheel option. My first M car - can't wait!! |

My 2020 M2C
Seeing a lot of hate on this color but when I saw it in person I thought it was awesome and had to scoop one up. Enjoy, some obviously taken by a pro some straight from my phone.

All of the M2C finish options have a lot of appeal compared to similar finishes from other manufacturers. The metallics (flake) used in all but AW create amazing range of color effects for each finish.
In different lighting... BS ranges from matte graphite to piano black. HS ranges from matte white to pale concrete gray. LBB ranges from matte sky blue to a dark navy blue. SO ranges from matte copper to dark chocolate. Where SO really stands out from the others (to me) is its dramatic firey mid-range. I think the reason a few people passionately dislike Sunset Orange is because one can't simply select a static color, rather one must accept what ever they get under the conditions. If one simply wants a bright orange or a candy red car, this color will probably be dissapointing most of the time. Catching a glimpse of this color in mixed bright sunlight however, is like... well its a lot like watching the Sun set. Last edited by silverds; 08-03-2019 at 10:36 AM.. |

I think it's a close call between this, LBB, and BSM on the car. Right now leaning to order LBB because I am not sure I like when SO looks very bronze. Anyone that says this is an awful color is wrong, though. Having seen all options in person, I think HS is the worst color on this car, strangely enough. SO seems to work best with the black wheels also, in my opinion.

"Brown under Moonlight" orange. Some people don't notice TitS or BuM. It's the first thing I see. It often gets me in trouble. Probably like this post. |
