Thanks for the video... I just got it for adaptive lights but I assumed it was high low beams only.

Each adaptive headlight is about 1500USD. Plus you need FLA camera in rear view mirror, about 750USD for complete mirror unit.

Then you need SZL column switch unit with HBA switch, another 750USD or so.

All in about 4500USD for working adaptive lights....

Geez Louise, for that kind of money I think I would use a hand held spot light out the window. Best to order those lights with the car.

Yep I made that error, I thought (and BMW sales guy confirmed) that all new M2C came with hex DRLs, only if you wanted adaptive functionality you had to pay for it.

Live and learn...

See post #17 in this thread. They are a bargain bought with the executive package. Purchased after the fact very expensive.

Agreed, I wouldn't even want to know how much it would cost to install after the fact, several thousand would be a good start, plus labor, OUCH!

I have the EXEC. Yes, I too thought it was a bit silly but ordered since it was "only" $1,200. Surprisingly, my favorite thing about it is the wireless charging cradle under the center arm rest.

Are you charging an iPhone, is it relatively fast charging the battery? Any idea about how long to go from 30 to 40% to full charge? With the supplied iPhone charger that would take about 2 hours, it is only 5 watts? Apple needs up the power level significantly.

its slow as molasses. In about 45 mins my iPhone Xs went from 60% to 68%.

I don't even bother anymore and just use a lightning connector. It's also very inconveniently located inside the compartment.

Wow, the little 5 watt Apple charger is faster, that's pretty funny. The car charger would take more than 8 to 9 hours to go from 30 to 100%, In comparison the Apple 5 watt charger blows that car charger away by 6 to 7 hours. Way to go Apple or BMW goofed here big time.

I never use the wireless charger, it's just too slow. If you are using NAV on your phone the wireless charger won't be able to keep up.

I'd have to unbury the charger to use it. Not a lot of places to put bits and bobs in our cars...

If you have an iPhone 8 or X, it has rapid charging technology built in; with the two in-vehicle 2.1A USB ports or a 12V cigarette lighter adaptor, you can fully charge your iPhones in less than an hour..

With the BMW Wireless Charging plate, it's limited to less than 5watts, if that, which is basically just 'trickle charging' and almost 5 times slower than the USB to lighten cable.

I know it feels cool and a little more convenient to just snap your phone in the charging bay but you're really just wasting time, as the technology is still in its infancy stage and hasn't yet caught up with quick wireless charging..

This.

I'm almost tempted to pull out the wireless charger so I can get more space...

Has any US M2C owners programmed Variable Light Distribution yet? When I went into Bimmercode expert mode, I'm not getting the same options as was described for the 2018 M2 DIY.

If you do, they sell a mat to cover it up neatly - it's like they knew..

I was disappointed that mine didn't have wireless charging at first. After reading all this I'm glad I get the extra space to charge the phone inside the armrest. Only thing is I don't have the extra USB port near the cup holders.

That's part of the "Wireless Charging" package. Which is ironic because the only way you get the two extra high amp USB 2.1A ports, one by the cup holder and other in the center armrest, is when you opt for the 'low amp' wireless charging package..

However, I think for 2019 cars, you'll get at least one high speed USB port that's pushing 2.1A, standard.

I will install a small profile 2A charger with two ports in the V12 socket, so not that big of a difference in the end.
