I did man. since I wasnt driving it hard I though I would be ok with them until break in service. The car was going straight to the garage after.

I feel like I never had the car since I barely drove it and never got to drive it the way is supposed to be driven.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! and GET GAP INSURANCE because you never know....

Ouch! An upside to the UK Insurance market is that you get a new replacement for the 1st 12 months (when depreciation is at it's worst) in the event of a write-off. Your premiums go up though...

Maybe a bright note...I have a HS M2C that has already been built (6sp, orange stitching, non exec), should be on a ship now. Haven't had time to check this week, been busy with work.

I have been thinking of moving off my order. Too many cars. Car would be in Ohio, likely just after the first of the year. If interested, let me know. Deal is for MSRP and deposit was $1k.

There would be three lanes on a highway and some other a-hole in a shitbox will constantly ride your ass, instead of switching over to an open lane.. I used to think I was just paranoid or mental until I did a social experiment and I drove a hoopty (crappy car). Immediately, I'd notice that the tailgating stopped and no one paid any mind to me..

I know the FDR drive and I already pictured how the accident happen with the OP. However, I will say that driving with summer tires didn't help with him regaining control, as they were probably hard as rocks, in the current 30 - 40 degrees climate.

Damn, that sucks. Glad you're alright, though. Car accidents are very scary like that and they happen SUPER fast.

My fiance and I were rear-ended this summer on the interstate, going about 75mph. We were in her Corolla, and we were hit HARD from behind. I've been in a couple accidents but this was the hardest I've ever been hit. Miraculously, she did not lose control of the car and was able to slow to a stop without anyone else hitting us. The other car, not so much... He lost control and veered off the right side of the road, and then we watched as his car flipped 5-6 times before landing upside down. Again, miraculously, the driver ended up being fine, but we didn't find that out until the next day.

Watching that car flip over and over after going off the road, while we coasted gently to a stop was one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had.

I was in the process of buying my M2 at the time, but still a bit on the fence about it. After that experience, knowing how much worse it could have been, I made up my mind to just do it. And I haven't regretted it a bit!

Be safe out there. The roads are dangerous and bad things can happen in no time at all. I love cars and driving, but it probably is for the best that we'll all be carted around in autonomous vehicles in the near future.

Of course not, NY doesn't have a "passing lane" rules but I'm not an inconsiderate driver; when the streets are filled and it doesn't make sense to 'open it up,' I stay in the immediate right lane to discourage people from tailing me or I even move over to the center or left lane, when they do, giving them the space to pass me and to avoid a possible bump and run situation like the OP experienced.

Moseying down my own way, some mouth-breather will still jump on my back and start closely riding my ass or muscle their into any cushion of safe space I leave in between the cars ahead of me. There are no shortage of selfish motorists here, added to influx of Uber and many other ride sharing taxi vehicles, hovering around in the already congested city streets.

So after my unfortunate accident last November, I was able to get a new M2C within a month. Last day of December I took delivery of my second M2C thanks to Santiago @ Open Road BMW in Edison NJ.

Same color and options except for the wheels. I was told they were the dark ones (aka black), instead I got the silver wheels but the dealer powder coated them satin Black for me.

I have been busy modding it slowly but I will post new pics soon...

The all black wheels look sick with the HS - I am sure there are some carbon fiber touches coming too. that's going to look great...
