I probably didn't make myself clear when I said my stock OG M2 went into limp mode on the Autobahn and @ Assen Moto GP.

But everybody reads what he wants to read.

Drive safely , especially the Belgians have a reputation Lol

My joke was not meant to be taken at the first degree, nor to offense you, but to outline my skepticism about the M2 going into limp mode on the German highway. On a track, I'm ready to believe it. But on a public road? But OK, if really you managed to do so, please warm me when you enter Belgium with your car, so I can hide with my family in the basement

Note that I totally agree that the S55 engine is much better, track-capable, and tunable than the N55. And I surely don't claim to be a great pilot. My M2 is my DD, and the only times I drove sport cars on a track, it was in video games

One of the most unentertaining CH videos I've watched.

Does it matter that the public road, in an unlimited section, allows for max speed? Maybe longer periods at that speed could be difficult for the OG M2, not sure - just guessing what he was saying.

Fair point, but you have to take into account that the points in time are different and relevant in this case.

Because the 1M was limited, sought after, and hard to get, it was reasonable for the "hype" associated with the introduction of the M2 (as the follow up to the 1M) to be very high.

Fast forward a couple of years and we have the M2C - which replaces the OG M2 on paper, but in reality is an exercise in emissions management, right? Not quite the same thing as a new model. More of a massaged model...

By the time the G80/82/87 comes out, of course any iteration of the F87 will be heavily discounted. You've got a new model, with a new motor, and updated everything. The M2C is basically a bridge (a great bridge, mind you) to that point. At least from my perspective...

I maxed my unmodified and driver's pack OG on Autobahn for quite a long stretch on a hot summer day with no problems. But the unlimited Autobahn stretches are not unlimited in length, so I do wonder what a "longer period" is in this case?

No problems driving really hard on track either apart from brake cooling needed and quite annoying fuel starvation in long hard full throttle right turns IF and only if the tank is below 25-30% full.

Anyway, I'm going to put this video here because going sideways is a Euro thingy....
It's the most renown carmag in the Netherlands and every year they are in search for the most ENTERTAINING new performance car.
This time at my 'hometown' racetrack: Assen/MotoGP.

It's not solely about pricetag/horsepower/laptimes, all those factors weigh in. What's the most entertaining car on the road and on track. In general.

'Strangely' in this video M2C gets more or less the most airtime of them all

Pista anytime and M2C please.

There are subtitles btw.

From 5:05 onwards M2C:

Edit 4:33 it starts:

Cheers
Robin
