Hmm interesting turn of events... I have somewhat lost interest in the build now with the new engine transplant.

I'm all for it. I love frankenstein builds. Props for originality!
For all the "purists" who hate that a non-BMW engine is in there, honestly who cares? Just appreciate the engineering it takes to pull this off in the first place.

The only way this build makes sense is as a drift car. Even then, a new Supra would have been a better choice because it's cheaper, lighter, has a stiffer frame, and shorter wheelbase. Even if you have BMW tattooed on one arm and Mopar tattooed on the other you can save $20,000 by just buying a 2016 M2.

Mad respect for the guys building this for the owner. Some serious skill there. But I lost interest in the "M2Full Race Build " idea at the engine swap. Will check back to see the wrap/paint that goes on and performance stats.... otherwise I wouldn't be a car person.
Anyone should be able to build whatever they want, so that's awesome too. He/she might have several other M2's and 100's of cars for all we know. I'd do some outrageous things with lottery money. Maybe he put the S55 into his jetski! In other news, man buys motorcycle and adds two additional wheels and still calls it a motorcycle 🤣 |

Totally buy in to the 'to each his own' philosophy and I really hope the owner achieves what he/she is looking for but personally, I don't get it.
Appreciate the effort and skill required to pull it together.

I love "outside the box" engineering! I know there are purists out there who look on this project as sacrilege, but unless they've invested their own money in this project who cares what they think. If you can pull this off, you will steal the show at SEMA.

I can understand being concerned about purity when we're talking about a historic or otherwise difficult to replace vehicle or components. But we're talking about a car that BMW sells about 10,000 of per year globally.
I think this is an awesome and fun build. Going to be interesting to see how the extra weight influences the handling and weight distribution, but I'm sure it will be cool to see it light up the tires from one corner to the next. |

So to all those modifying their M2. Thank you for increasing the price of mine. It sits in my basement, vacuum sealed, laughing at you all. |

Like someone else mentioned. It would have been better to start with a BMW race shell, if they wanted it to "look" like a BMW and the frame would have been reinforced in the right places.
This isn't a BMW or any form of a BMW. This beginning to look like a drift car? |

So I'd say coming onto a car forum to laugh at us for modifying mass produced cars we love to drive? Obviously just picking a fight so we'll laugh at you instead pal. Haha, vacuum sealed. Poor car is suffocating. |

Sure, it costs me hundreds of thousands a year to take all these measures to make my non-exec package m2 be the most sought after bmw in the world, but youre mistaken to think I'm doing it as a financial investment. I'm doing it because I'm a sick, sick man. Here is a taste of some of my thug group work https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1766658 ...I'm just joking around with all this, btw. |

Did you guys consider a Judd v8 or v10 instead?

I dont think OHC heads (either V8 or V10) will fit under the hood
