So for the Stage 4 track update...

Operation M2 vs track prepped and supercharged E93 M3 (640hp) was a compete success! My Uncle is so pissed that my car is now faster than his around the track. His car was overheating and he had a nice trip thru the infield (and almost a tire wall) trying to keep up.

I was able to get so much more power down coming out of the corners with the 295/30s in the back, and he was barely pulling me on the straights (even with his blower) bc of the launch and momentum I was getting off the corners. Around the corners, I was smoking his heavy E93!

That’s not to say it was all roses. You can find my Extreme Engine Cooling thread to understand my next challenge. If I can get that sorted, I’ll be done tweaking her and will go back to just focusing on replacing rubber and pads.

Freakin awesome! Dethroned the supercharged king, that's what I'm talking about!

In line with what you are saying, the two biggest items I noticed when coming from my E92 M3 to my F87 M2 was:

1. Massively improved front end bite compared to the E92 M3.

2. Increased ability to put traction down coming out of a corner due to the much improved limited slip diff and suspension on the M2. (Although more standard now, I still get giddy when I see the subframe bolted directly to the frame without sloppy subframe bushings.)

Considering you have the big meaty tires on the rear and some intense power on tap, it has got to be even better coming out of the corners!

You’re exactly right.

My biggest strength against his E93 was power delivery and traction from mid corner to corner exit. He was trying over and over to pull away and his rear end was way more squirrelly. That’s how he had his trip into the grass, by spinning up the rears trying to put power down, then it hooked up and shot him off track.

I think some of that was frustration from a blue M2 hounding him all day, too.

He already has substantially upgraded suspension and brakes, so his turn in and braking were pretty darn good. No doubt he’ll be sending his car back to Turner to get the rear end sorted, so I need to up my game for next year.

If I can improve cooling and find some sub 20lb 19x9.5 & 19x10.5 track wheels with the right offsets, I think that will be enough to retain the cup next year!

Got limp mode with 93, tried it as another test. Switched to 100, no limp mode the rest of the day.

Haven't had a chance to see if the Fuel-It Stage 3 upgrade makes a difference at the track yet. I have an event at Watkins Glen in a few weeks, then Mosport. I used Torco octane booster with 93 in the past and still got limp mode. I forget...are you running a stock downpipe?

Stock downpipe. Definitely curious to hear if the Fuel It upgrade lets you run 93.

I used to complain that you couldn’t get 93 at Watkins. Now that they have it, I can’t use it.

Go Fabspeed my brother. Let 'er breathe! Although I theorize that the added HP is what takes it over the edge with fuel delivery.

You’ll first have to prove to me no limp mode on track with Dinan Stage 4 and an aftermarket downpipe. You’re apparently the guinea pig for this setup.

Hey you two, both with the Dinan suspension - Would you please comment on the durability of that suspension system now that you both have some miles and stress on you installs? Any rebuilds, concerns for longevity, leaking, etc.?

Thanks in advance.

No issues on my side. My race shop reviews everything before each track event, and I keep an eye on it, as well.

Comfy on the road and fun on the track.

I also have a Dinan Stg 4 with a FabSpeed downpipe...so great! Had some issues with the HPFP originally but Dinan stood behind it and replaced it through my local dealer here in Las Vegas...now she runs great. Planning on running at Spring Mountain with PCA on 9/22. I'll report back on how it goes.

With another OE HPFP...not an aftermarket one. Good to know that there is an option out there though. So far the OE one is working great

Update 9/23

Ran the 3.4 mile at Spring Mountain today...car ran strong!! Even at 95 degrees out! Zero limp modes for 3 20 min sessions. Car is set up w stage 4 Dinan (big turbo) and fabspeed catted DP. I did run 2 gallons of 100 octane mixed w 91 because of the heat. Run again in November so I'll check back with 91 alone 👍🏼

Do you upgraded to the CP9660 or CP9560???

Yup, no issues with daily driving the AP BBK with Ferodo DS2500 pads. Then, DS.11 pads for the track.

I've just taken delivery of a set of front CP9660 and rear CP9451 BBKs from Essex Parts with DS1.11 pads all round. I will be buying a set of DS2500s over here in the UK for street use.

Ive heard great things about these brakes and can't wait to get them on the car in March and start doing some track days when the weather picks up. It's good to hear you're loving the set up also
