I'm currently looking at a 2018 M2 that was traded in last month and is up for sale locally.
$43,000 KM on it but it looks like during pre inspection it was determined that new brakes and rotors are needed tech said the "Vehicle pulls a drifts, brakes pulsate badly, brake condition very poor." I was wondering if rotor replacement is something that comes up often on the M2 especially considering the mileage on this vehicle. Thanks would appreciate your feedback on this. |

Car was likely tracked. On normal street use no need to touch the brakes before 100k kms.
DO you have any pictures of the brake rotors? If you can see circular lines on the rotors that is a good indicator of material transfer. This only happens at high temps. And that only happens on the track. Not a bad thing, many of these cars are tracked as they make awesome track cars, but just something to consider.

A good indication of regular track driving is discolored calipers, it does not look like it on the picture or maybe someones did 1 or 2 track events and overheated them. It could even happen on the street with a careless driver. The OEM pads will cause pad deposit easily wich could feel like the description the tech gave.
These rotors don't warp, when they are done they crack. A crack between 2 holes is a sign you need to replace them.

The car also needed new tires so it may have just been a one or two track visit. |

Thanks for posting, that doesn't look bad. No grooving and just obvious the car has been sitting for a bit. I wouldn't worry about it.
P.S. I track mine, and I can tell you with full confidence that once you get good brake fluid and some track pads, those blue brakes can stand up to tracks like Nurburgring. Have fun and enjoy the car!

I'm still trying to decide if I want to jump on this car it does look like it has been tracked at least once or twice which isn't really a big deal. 2018 M2 with 43,000KM for $50,000 CAN, executive package, m performance exhaust. May try to work them down a bit. |

I have the exact same car, mine is DCT and I freakin LOVE the thing ! Next step is 911 GTS, there's like nothing else that's worth it between them. That tells you something about the M2's

so with the car being obviously tracked if I do come to an agreement on a price and decide to purchase are there any other areas of the vehicle that I should examine in related to track use.
I guess with it still being under warranty for two years I shouldn't be worried too much? |

Price is very high for the mileage. From what I can tell, it's only missing the LEDs and doesn't have the sunroof.
The brake issue is likely due to pad material stuck on the face of the rotor. It would be shocking if these rotors warped as there's very few instances of actual warped rotors on the M2 or M3/M4 forums even from tracking. You should easily be able to get it for low 40s, otherwise there's plenty of lower mileage 2018s on the market for similar money. |

New canadian CPO is now 5 years total/unlimited km's. If they sell it cpo I think they would have to replace brakes and make sure everything is spot on.
I looked at values and it's not too bad, mine would be worth around 55k cad with 10 500km on it.

Brakes and Rotors are going to be replaced once purchased...they said they don't want to replace them and have the vehicle sit there for a long period. |

If it's CPO then its a decent deal. Just bed the brakes in again and they should be fine. I had a pretty bad vibration on my front brakes and 5-6 100-10 km/h braking passes on the highway and its all gone.
