Engine cutting out at 6k rpm after IC, charge pipe and stage 2 tune
Hello all, I just installed a CSF intercooler and FTP charge pipe today, along with an upgrade to Stage 2 Hex tune.
Everything seems fine just driving around town at lower rpm but when I go WOT, the engine violently cuts out at 6k RPM. I mean a really hard cut, it is extremely unpleasant. No engine codes have been thrown yet and the car really does seem fine under normal driving conditions. My first thought is it must be a boost leak but I'm not sure. I'm too exhausted to get under the car and check it out today but will tomorrow. Curious if anyone has any ideas on what's going on? |

Mine did the same thing with pretty much the same setup and bm3 e30 map.
Pretty much thought the engine totally took a crap the first time it happened. Mine got into limp mode as well. Was my hpfp crashing. Changed the map to the 93 Ron and no problem. Now going down the pi road to go for E85... |

UPDATE
UPDATE: Verified all connections this morning and everything is very solid and how it should be. Switched back to my Hex Stage 1 and the issue went away! Very happy I don't need to spend another day busting my knuckles.
Been on the phone with VF already and they're looking into it. Will update thread again when this is resolved. |

Hey there VF. I installed a fabspeed dp months ago, that's seen almost 2k miles with no issues. I run 93 octane only.
I checked all my work today and everything is solid, no issues with my IC or charge pipe install. I already put a ticket in with technical over the phone this morning. He suggested I switch back to stage 1 and see what happens, and all was well after that. I've since called and updated technical on that development. I assume I won't hear back till sometime next week, as the holidays begin here shortly. |

Mine did the same when I came home to cooler temps after doing a G-Power mod. I ended up changing the HPFP to XDI-35 and I now have zero issues and even took out more power.
After logging I saw the original HPFP started loosing pressure at around 5000rpm and at 6000 my car stuttered hard. Now with even more boost the HPFP keeps the pressure up to 7000rpm. |

Resolution
VF got a revised tune over to me last week and I just had the chance to test it out tonight. Very happy to report all is well.
The tune feels great, lots of midrange grunt added and feels like its slightly stronger revving out to 7k over stage 1 VF was great with their customer service. Highly recommend! |

Could it be as simple as traction control cutting power due to wheel slip? Does it happen if you got DSC off or traction control off?

Not to hijack this thread, but I will be going with a VF Stage 2 tune, CSF IC and, and a VSRF charge pipe...all ordered today! I already have the Fabspeed sport DP and muffler bypass installed. I'm not planning on getting the car dynoed...so I was just wondering (ballpark estimate) what kind of HP and torque numbers I could reasonably expect from this setup?

I still want more but I feel satisfied with what I paid and what I've received. Eventually I'll upgrade fuel and turbo and go for bm3 but until then, I'm very pleased with VF |
