Maybe it will take some more time for the US. The euro dealers are shipping them now.

Yeah, I love the heated wheel but as I knew I would get the M Performance wheel I didn't order the heated wheel this time. I guess the alcantara can't handle it.

You don't really need the heated function with alcantara in my experience.

Having said that, my C63 has an alcantara wheel and the heated function. Not sure why BMW doesn't but, like I said, it isn't a big deal IMO anyway.

Ya i find it strange, that BMW cant match the heated function with alcantara. But the wheel is way to nice to pass up, will be ordering this as well.

Ya its great in the winter! Here in Canada the heated steering wheel comes standard, guess maybe swap steering wheels and the same time as winter wheels haha

^^ This true? I remember seeing that feature in executive package for the US spec cars but no mention of it for us (or any other of the executive package features for that matter)

Yes heated steering wheel is standard - in essence, Canada gets the US Exec Pkg as standard. Our only option is the enhanced telephony add-on.

I just stopped by the dealer to see my M Performance Steering wheel in person (it's there waiting for my car in 10 days).

It is FANTASTIC!!! It is WAY thicker and meatier than the OEM wheel. The alcantara is beautiful. Much nicer than pictures and I'm really pleased. If you like a thicker steering wheel, this is it. The E9X M3 had a thicker wheel than the current F8X cars (including the M2) and I missed it. The M performance wheel is that much meatier again. The thumb rest is also very pronounced. I'm very pleased I bought it!

No pics... I went to the dealer just before closing. The sales manager and I went out back and found it in the box to take a look. It was late so I didn't want to keep them long.

Great stuff, I think I'm set on getting this too.

How much of a 'flat bottom' are we talking about. Looks minimal...would you say.

Yes, minimal but definitely flatter.

Correct... but if you rub it REALLY hard for a while the alcantara will heat up. Think of it more as an old school, manually adjustable heat feature

I wish you could program it to display gear selection (DCT owner here). But Oil and water temps are more than worth the purchase. Some have already installed the F80 M3 version. Seems to work just fine.

Reason why I didn't tick the heated steering wheel option. Now to choose which M perf steering wheel I want...
