Melbourne gets hot summers from 30-40degrees for two months and 20-30 for spring.

Car will go for Stage 2.

Can you recommend a downpipe + charge pipe (maybe FTP?) + intercooler?

Would like to cut the car as minimally as possible.

Budget wise if performance difference is miniscule and difference in price is 50% then no thank you.

I appreciate all of yall's help!
I just installed Active Autoworks Intercooler, Evolution Raceworks Charge Pipe (thanks Extreme Power House). Can feel a nice bump in power and sound. I DD and Track my car. Intercooler is 65% more capacity than stock. If not tuning, do not go to big with intercooler or you may end up with Turbo Lag.

I recommend a 5" intercooler. Active Autowerke, Wagner EVO I or VRSF 5" HD are great options.

Its a larger core for better temp control but as explained above the larger the core, the higher the pressure drop.
the 6.5" is best used with stage 2+ application, 5" is best used for stage 1

Is the 6.5" not suitable for my application?

I have a VRFS catless downpipe, akra exhaust, FTP charge and boost pipe, BMS intake system in the garage. Just choosing an FMIC now.

It will go for BM3 Stage 2. I have a 2017 M2 LCI

The VRSF 6.5" Competition HD would be perfectly suited for a tuned M2 in a warm environment

VRSF 6.5" Comp is the perfect choice for stage 2 FBO car

FBO is what you have now, tune + DP + CP + FMIC and intake

I don't believe so but their larger ones do even though they say that they don't.
On my particular vehicle, the CSF fit great.

The 6.5" Competition does not require additional modification and it will outperform the suggested CSF in both cooling capacity and airflow.

In UK here, forge FMIC tempting me as same price as CSF and want to upgrade stock plastic pipes with the forge ones so compatibility should be great.

Or would people make a case for CSF?
Litchfield in UK use the forge in their tuning package and NVM and evolve seem to like CSF.

The forge one is tiny - it's not really much larger than stock.

I have recently bought a Do88 ic in the UK. Quality seems very good but not yet fitted it. Search earlier in this thread and someone has posted iat logs for it.

I personally think it'll be better than csf (faster flowing and slightly lighter) but for less money - in almost all other respects they are very similar.

You'd be better off with do88, wagner or csf than the forge.

Did I miss something with CSF that makes it the hot ticket?

Thanks for the input. Eyeballing the forge I did wonder how exactly it was larger than the stock one, I know it's not stepped like the CSF (and not saying being stepped is only way to increase area) from photos.

Not heard of do88? Is it an eBay one?

Think any lag will be a problem with the do88?

In theory will all pipe upgrades be compatible with all intercoolers that are designed for stock mounting/oem replacement?

Or are there compatibility issues to be aware of?

So could I run forge pipes with a do88 FMIC or a CSF intercooler with FTP pipes etc?
