GTS style OLED tail lights

This mod seems to be really polarizing... some people love it, some hate it. I would guess the purists and collectors here would really hate it. I'm not one of them, so here it is...

The orange lights (brake lights?) look really cheap besides that the look isn't too bad. Def will be polarizing haha

Its not really orange... its just the photo. The brake light is pretty bright red and the turn signal is amber like they should be.

I love the original GTS tails, but this cheap Chinese crap doesn't belong on a German car IMO, not unless it's made to the same standard.

I like the turn signal and the OLED part (if it's actually real OLED) but the brake light section looks really bad with the scattered diodes.

Like has been said some will love it, some won't. Not my thing but I also don't like it on the m4 (mostly because its so over played).

The question is, will they fix the rear light malfunction problem that most if not all 2 series have after a certain time?

OP, thanks for taking the plunge. I know a lot of us have been curious about these but not curious enough to order them ourselves.

I think they look good but a bit cheap. Im willing to bet that the v2 will clean them up a bit. That's kinda of how the f30/f80 gts light saga went too.

I feel like they're Hyundai Genesis tail lights, from the old coupe. Just has a weird overall flow to it that doesn't seem cohesive enough.

How do you rate the quality fit and finish?

Agreed, the design and lights seem all over the place. The 2-series needs more elegance back there IMO, not so much busy.

Fitment and finish are good. The install literally takes 5 min per side and these drop in with no fitment issues no gaps. The OLEDs look very bright and good quality.

My only complaint is that the hue of the lens is less red than oem, so if you put them side by side you can see the difference. You don't notice it when in use bc the LEDs are so bright red… but when parked and shut off, the lens color isn't perfect. I also discovered that I need to code the tail light DRLs because the oleds actually turn off in the daytime. I checked the forums and it seems that the m3 and m4 versions did the same without coding. Gonna get to that tonight with bimmercode. So just FYI on that and we'll see later if that fixes it.

I expected the posters here to hate on them… I actually wasn't sure if I would even bother posting it here since the crowd here tend to lean more towards the "keep it OEM" side. But I love modding my cars and I know a lot of people have been waiting for these for a while so whatever…. There is no OEM version of these lights so this is the only option for GTS style lights for the M2.

But the CS guys will probably finally do the 1200 mile break in service in 3 years from now

Coding does the trick... oleds now stay on during the daytime or when the headlights are turned off. Without coding the rear DRL, they will only stay on when the headlights are on. They look so good at dusk.

I like that there's someone doing something different on their car (as long as you aren't stancing out your car). It's no fun when everyone's car is being modded the same way.

Lol judging by how many people are asking where to get them in my other M2 groups it won't be different for very long

No I think that's coded into the light itself. I'll be at the big meet at BMW of Turnersville tomorrow if you're swinging by.
