Also considering doing this in my OG M2 when my MPSS are through.

Will I still be able to break traction and will turn in by much heavier/slower than 245 at the front?

If you go with starred MPSS 255/275 from M3/M4 then I doubt the turn in will be slower, weightier yes but no bad thing in my book for EPS. If you know someone with an F8x M3/4 with stock wheels/tyres, perhaps ask if you can drive it to check helm response and feel before you commit to 255/275 combo.

Even if you go with non-starred MPSS 255/275, I doubt it will be detrimental, other tyre brands/makes though may be a different story....

Swapped to 265/30/10 - 295/30/19

Michelin PS4S

Between the tire swap and size increase, the car is completely different. I can take street turns at 40-50 without the back even sliding(not that it's a good idea).

From what I read when I swapped I think the setup I have is the closest to the same rolling diameter as OEM as well.

Pretty much everything I've read says that 265's rub the front unless you're using camber plates?

Truth? Not truth?

Not interested in the "heat gun" method.

265/35/19 in the front rub

265/30/19 has zero rub

This is my car with the mentioned setup - no rub - and it's on Macht Schnell lowering springs

Thanks, I checked my rears today and they felt lower than I thought.

So it's win win to try 255/35 r19 front and 275/35 r19 rear?

I think strangely the wider rear tyre is cheaper than the 265 variant.

I was just gonna buy PS4S. Sorry slight thread hijack.

255/275 35/19 MPS4S - good plan

If you could give your wheel widths and offsets that would be great.

I figured that they were EC-7s. They offer several offsets though.

Any difference in comfort or road noise swapping from PSS in 35 sidewall vs PS4S in 30 sidewall?

The closest to stock diameter would be to use 275/30-19 up front paired with the 295/30-19 rears. This keeps the 20mm stagger in widths and also is closet to the stock diameter stagger ratio. I inspected an M2C with PS4S in those sizes mounted on stock wheels at O'fest, and I saw no signs of rubbing issues although I didn't come across the owner to discuss.

Technically to match the stock diameters, front and rear, 285/30-19 and 305/30-19 does exactly that but of course with those widths and the wider wheels needed, it would take some work to make them fit I assume.

I agree 100%
I think this would be ideal for looks and performance as well.
but i reckon you going to have a tough time fitting a 275/30 on the front lowered. again also dependent on what tyre you go with as they not all the same in tread width.

any body running a 275 on the front on 9.5J

Another question: I've pretty much decided to swap the stock 245/265 PSS's on my incoming M2C with 255/275 PS4S's (i.e. a +1 size increase.)

My thought was to order them through Tire Rack (best price I've found), pick them up at the distribution center (saves $40), and deliver to my dealer to have them mounted just before I accept delivery of the car.

Buuuuutttt-- Now I'm thinking (probably an overabundance of caution) that the dealer could "redline" the car, or "flag" it due to "non-approved" parts.

I don't want to have to get approved from Corporate any time I go in for service or warranty work.

So-- Problem? Not a problem?

Am I better going elsewhere? My worry is that BMW would know how to do the swap without dinging the wheels-- whereas I wouldn't trust some of the Tire Rack installers in the area with the wheels from my 15 year old Honda, much less a brand new, expensive BMW.

Thoughts?

I seriously doubt that the dealer would care about the bigger tires, they probably wouldn't even notice. I took my M235i in for warranty service multiple times with much bigger tires than stock without issue.

Tire purchase:
I usually find the best deal on tires then go to my local favorite tire shop Discount Tire for a price match. Michelin often has a $70. rebate on a set of 4 tires which is an extra bonus. I just checked and at the moment Michelin doesn't show an available rebate but Costco specifically does offer $110. rebate on Michelins. You'd need to go into the Costco shop to order them, they're not a stock item on their website either.

I don't think BMW techs are especially careful or gifted. I think you take the same risk on wheel scratches wherever you go. My policy is to take pictures of the wheels before the tire change and speak to the tech personally explaining that I really care about scratches. That is about the best you can do. Good luck.

I actually checked Disount first-- they were more expensive that Tire Rack. Not sure how their "price matching" works with tax and the $40 credit the Tire Rack gives for pick-up rather than delivery. I'll have to go back and ask.

Tire Rack was $1134 -$40 for pickup, totaling $1,094. Discount was $1,367 w/o the tire warranty and $1,549 with. Tire Rack has a tire warranty included and I'll have to factor in the mounting/balancing of the tires, but even at $50/tire Tire Rack is still a fair bit cheaper.

The Costco here won't deal with anything other than OEM sizes, so they're right out. I've got +1 on my Element and have been turned away by them as soon as they look in the computer for "factory" sizing.

Discount usually will deal with out the door price. Sometimes I'm surprised at how low they will go :-) Also, the Discount shops are not all created equal. I have one in my area that is stingy about price matching while another one will drop their drawers .
The Michelin rebate comes and goes. I usually wait to buy when it is offered. It will probably come back in a month or two. Evans tire often has 2 for 1 sales which is good for price match also.
