I Can't tell either, but since BMW put it in it must be ok. Not all tranny oil is compatible, I have a Jeep Wrangler with the 6spd and I went with Red Line synthetic, that was directly compatible with the tranny. Some have an ingredient that attacks the brass synchromesh in the trans. I cant remember what it was exactly. But yes different oil can make a big difference. Thanks for posting this.

Just so you know, there is a newer version of this Oil MT 6. But it was the 5 they put in mine where they had been putting 2 in and it was a night and day difference.
