That exhaust would be the first thing to replace wouldn't it?

Not necessarily. My past insurance companies have covered everything. They have a "return to the condition it was in before an incident." Of course I didn't add on something worth ~20% of the car's value.

Anyway, that's the only M2 I've seen that I've liked. The rear looks so much better.

The whole trunk is CF, that's just an unpainted portion

For the new age of car buyers that want everyone to know their trunk is carbon fiber with a giant M PERFORMANCE etched on to it

Old money vs new money differences
Subtle vs flashy

It's just the style BMW is pushing now

I wonder if the insurance companies will pay that much for after market parts in case of an accident?
I'm dealing with it right now; the parts are considered OEM.

more details on what's happening? Are they refusing coverage or they consider it as original equipment and it has coverage? Do you need to show evidence of dealer performed install?

I'm interested as I have a very expensive MPE on my car right now.

Had the spoiler piece been made in CF, that would have looked much better, but that trunk trim stares back at you just shouts "hey look at me, I'm a piece of CF for no good reason. Don't ask me why the rest of the back panel isn't CF, and don't ask me why the spoiler isn't either. I'm CF!"
The whole lid is made of CF, they are just leaving that section exposed/unpainted. Just like the hood and unfinished dome. If i misread and you knew this, just move along thanks...

Mine is a bit different.

Car was broken into and shattered glass went everywhere, cutting anything leather/suede in its path.

F80 M3: Sliced my drivers seat, M Performance V2 Steering wheel, Air bag, MP ebrake, MP shifter surround, 1 MP door handle, seat belt and labour.

Doesn't sound like a big deal right? Until I received an $11,400 appraisal for the damages.

Insurance is covering everything as they are OEM components and repairs are being done by the dealer. Insurance was surprised by the appraisal so they sent their own appraiser who verified the estimate this morning.

Looks awesome if left unpainted on the inside, but alas BMW has to plaster that stupid ///M PERFORMANCE logo there too. You know, in case you forgot seeing it on the outside.

If the mafioso is using the car and you get a ride in the trunk, you certainly won't mistake it for anything else.

Totally agree. I'd paint right over that silly M Performance logo on the trunk lid as well. The bonnet should be painted one solid color as you say or it ends up looking like something a flamboyant American muscle car would have.

Vented CF front fenders are amazing though!

Isn't the entire fender made of CF too? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I want to say it's more than just the vent itself.

You don't like the 788s?

I think they're quite nice, especially in person. But I also like my 666Ms.

Yes, the fenders are all CF. The part you see in CF is the portion left unpainted.
