718 Cayman GT4

Does anyone have an idea of how much the 718 Cayman GT4 base price will be? How hard will it be for an allocation? Will it get the PDK?

I'm afraid you are too late if you have not already secured a spot on allocation list.

Price, no one knows. Just expect $100k+. I'd suspect, manual and pdk option.

Unless you’re a current GT car customer I’d imagine chance of allocation would be very slim. That’s what I’ve been told by my SA here in Canada. Apparently PDK first and manual to follow.

You’re probably too late, but start emailing dealers to get on lists and expect to pay ADM.

Sounds like I will have to settle for an M2 Competition.

I think a Cayman GTS would also be a worthy option, seem to be obtainable and a little more affordable ($90kish).

I'm on the list local Porsche dealer, he called me 8 weeks ago, he has seen- and heard the engine of the car IRL.

I want that car, but only if PDK is available!

What he (CEO/owner) told me;

-6F NA
-420HP
-First with PDK, 6MT to follow
-ETA spring 2019

FWIW that is, there is no official Porsche conformation on above details.

The longer we wait, the sooner it comes

Might be the best car they've ever made, especially if the NA F6 is true.

Can't wait.

On the list for this as well. The wait is killing me. There seems to be more 992 spy shots and news and the gt4 has gone ghost

Looking closer, I think it`s the 1st time I see pictures with a side intake cover.

Some pics it seems almost if AP sits behind the wheel himself

EU model might have less hp, new 718 GT4 will have particulate filters.

No worries; it will deliver 420 HP, as Porsche is Always conservative on HP numbers

Cayman S or GTS is really good. If you can live with no backseat even a Cayman base would be a better sports car, IMO.

Love our 718 Boxster but I think compared to the upper ends of the 718 spectrum, I’d replace my Stingray with a Z06 or ZR1.

No doubt about that - my 981 CS was on another level, can't imagine what the 718 S/GTS/GT4 would be like.

Any regrets from departing with your 918S? Sorry, low blow.

Word to the wise....if you ever obtain a 718 GT4, never get rid of it voluntarily. Duh, right?

I’m not sure regret is the right word - I DO wish I still had it, but I needed something with better day to day practicality and I only had space for one car, which is when I got the F80.

Someday, I hope I have a three car garage, and a mint 981 GTS is in the third bay.

^The 981 GTS is a great car on engine, PDK, chassis, but not steering wise.

I do mis the car but not the steering.

2 car garage for me would be enough;

-718 GT4 weekend warrior
-M2C daily driver

Perfect couple IMHO

Has anyone got a clue if the new GT4 will be a daily driveable car. Last GT4 was a in my opinion not.

A GT4 touring package would be cool.

Depending on how you define daily drivable. In most cases, gt cars aren't used on daily basis. They are created for track purposes, even with the touring package on the 991.2 gt3. I doubt it's any "daily user friendly" than a PDK equipped GT3. Of course, all of them are definitely made usable everyday if you prefer. I live in suburban area so in the summer season, I use my base 911 daily without issues. However, I don't drive it into city where traffic is always a nightmare especially when I need to deal with 3 pedals.

The new 718 GT4 will be an awesome car that's for sure. Only problem is with flippers all over the market, the truth for the ones who really want to own and drive new GT4 will have very difficult time finding availability. That's just a sad fact.

If I find myself in a situation to replace the M2 with a 2 seat daily driver I would get the Cayman S and throw a GT4 body kit on it.
