This is because the left and right are unable to agree on climate change.

Perfect, except the few cons.

Cons:
No HUD
Small fuel tank
The god damn muffler
Seat belt can be hard to reach

About the seat belt, I have no issue. In LH car, LH straight back over left shoulder palm up to hook belt and pull down to switch over to grab buckle RH palm down, connect to buckle no problem.

I'm glad there's no stupid seatbelt assistant thing. I had one in my E92 335i coupe a long time ago and it was a pos. Never caught the belt or was broken half the time.

I have a Stingray currently, so I can so appreciate this!

little headache is the small tank, I like putting good fuel but if your out of your area and you only have 1/8 of a tank likely just Arabian piss quality station is available, just top-off @ night near home base your preferred station

In Maine I had to use a station straight out of "deliverance" no choice, was on fumes

some notes: I like the car because it's not a screamer, not many will look twice other than car people, what I'm saying is going to a cvs to pick up a few items your car will be fine when you return not like my brothers corvette (fat nasty broads) always lean on it to take selfies

Quick question - just how small is this fuel tank? Luckily my M2C will be strictly a weekend toy so not really worried about range.

But just curious if we're talking like 11-12 gallon capacity? Less?
13.7 gallons according to BMW

I think this is as much an issue of our individual, necessary seat placements as anything. I have no issues at all with it, but I think I'm somewhat of an outlier: Only ~6' tall, but blessed/cursed with the arms/legs of someone 6'5"-6'6" so my seat is all the way back and steering wheel all the way shoved forward. The seat belt is an easy reach w/seat all the way back.

I have no doubt moving the seat to a more forward position would make seatbelt reach an issue

BTW, no, I'll never have issues wearing a helmet in this car, just leg space

So I just added another Pro - I ordered a car I'd never sat in knowing leg space is always an issue, and it worked out! Damn would that have sucked if my knee hit the steering wheel on that first shift.......

Since I haven't seen anyone mention it in this thread...

Con: Inevitable grinding sound you will get when a pebble gets stuck in between the brake caliper and the wheel. I can't believe BMW allowed such a small clearance especially after they ran into the same issue with the M3/M4 carbon ceramic brakes.

Amazing otherwise!

No OPF on mine, but build after Mar 2019 come with it.

I used to have MPE on my M135 and I think on flap close, even the 135 has better sound than this.

For flap opened, true that M2C is not too bad but I expect better.

You are so right! My front wheels have rock grooves thanks to BMW's engineering Dept.

Memorable moments

1. Highway Pulls
2. Low Speed Drifting

Disappointments

1. Lag/loss of power sometimes in the twisters (happened before break-in only)
2. Steering feel and Manual Transmission will feel underwhelming if you’re expecting pre-2010 BMW’s. Steering feels artificially stiff, manual is rubbery and rev match defeats the purpose of getting a manual

Love the size of the car. As a previous owner of a F80 and F82, the M2 is the perfect sized modern M car (to me). I don't think I could/will get rid of it. And the option of having a manual gearbox is amazing. And most importantly, 2 car seats fit in back!!

I'm disappointed that you can't turn off the auto rev match when in sport+, like my previous F82. Gearbox and clutch feel is ok, but not even close to my friend's 997.1 base 911. But it's acceptable, and to me, more enjoyable than the DCT.

2. Did I mention the drive is awesome? Oh I did.. It's a great looking car. Especially HS :P

Cons:
1. Seat belts are kinda hard to reach.
2. The access to the back seat does not automatically move forward with a click. You have to hold it down for it to move forward. The manual says otherwise, because it was still talking about the OG M2 seats. OG M2 seats moves forward with one tap.
3. Having to disable auto stop/start everytime I start the car.
You can use BimmerCode to save last settings for start stop so you don't have to press it.

I think dealers will code that for you for free as well.

I've always had M/T's, and I LOVE shifting, but after my last Bimmer, I'll never buy another. Just felt like a bowl of jell-o (rubbery), compared to all the competition out there.

This will be my first DCT. Looing forward to a new experience.

Re seatbelt...M2C is my wife's primary car, and she quickly discovered that reaching back underhanded with your left hand to grab the seatbelt works much better than trying to reach across with your right hand.

8 months and 5k miles on, we both love the M2C. We bought it last September without any test drive, etc, with the intention to flip out of it right away if it didn't make the cut, if the EPS still was bad, etc. So far, so good. (see my thread from last September when I took it to the Michelin proving grounds 1/2 mile skidpad to shake it down)

Yeah. It's a setting. They must have had the wrong config loaded (maybe their market requires it for "efficiency" reasons)?

I believe it's our market as well. Whenever we start the car.
It always goes back to engine start/stop enabled. Engine efficient, steering sport, drivelogic D1.

So my routine is to, Start the engine, press engine start/stop button, press M1.

My dealership refuses to touch it bimmercode stuff. So I'm going to have to buy an ODB myself at some stage.
