So first big boy event in the books at the DC National Tour. Signed up as a single driver, last minute a former BS driver had issues with this FS GT350 and asked for a codrive and I said sure. Anyway, Day 1 was kind of a crap shoot. Rain over night, cold, very slippery. Majority of people got 2 runs, I only got 1 and the course broke up. SCCA made the call to change the course slightly, throw out all timed runs, and give everyone 2 timed runs to compete. Didn't really drive well but ended up with a .3xx lead after day 1. Day 2 rolls around, course is dry, but still cold with no sun out. Drove ok and ended up lining up for my last run as a victory lap essentially. Pushed it a little with plenty of mistakes but was the only car to crack the 60s mark in BS to take a 2.5 second overall victory. Can't say it was a good event, but can't complain either. The front end worked well for the slanted/slippery lot however the driving could have def been way better. Rear tires never got up to anything resembling heat making putting any power down impossible. (single drivers likely had it worse) The front got warmer than ambient and reacted well. Overall 1st in class 15th out of 220ish in pax for the event.

15th pax at a national tour event is awesome! Good job. I see your time would have won A-street too! This is with a stock front bar and the RT660/A052 combo too, right? M2C, DCT (?), any other mods?

Stock Front Bar
BMW camber hubs
MCS 2WNR shocks
275/30/19 660s on Apex SM-10 19x9 wheels
295/35/18 ao52s on Apex SM-10 18x10 wheels
DCT car, came in at 3565 prior to adding 10 gallons of fuel as I like to run events near full to get as much weight over the rear as possible.

Great driving man! Nice to meet you as well.

I felt lost in the woods at that event in terms of my driving, setup and tires

I understand there is a part that's legal and can allow a little more camber in the front (OG M2)

Anyone has the exact part name and part#? How much work is it to install?

Yes, those are the correct part numbers for the camber correction knuckles

Thanks AlpinewhiteM2C!

For alignment I was thinking

Front
Max camber
Toe 1/16 out total (or is 0 preferable?)

Rear
Camber: .2 less than the front
Toe 1/16 in total

Does that seem right?

I've been running zero toe in the front and approx. -1.7 rear with 1/16 toe in. Been happy with it so far.

I tried to have my new front tires mounted today, 285/30/18 RE71RS on 18x9. After two different installer attempts, the last one being my defacto hot rodder go-to shop, seems they weren't kidding on the minimum 9.5" wheel. Anyone in FL need 2 brand new ones? I could bring to the red hills tour.

Coming from the 275 30 19, 275 35 19 Falkens on my M2C last year, the sizes of the RE71RS are giving me a lot of hesitation. Going smaller than 275 up front doesn't make any sense to me but the diameter is an inch taller. What are your thoughts?

I ran into this with mounting some RS's last fall. FYI - Turns out the trick was the installer used packing material used to mount tires for agricultural equipment in the field to take a seat and hold air.

I despise the falkens so I'm trying it this year. 255/275 19 re71rs. Last year I had 275/30/19 falkens and a mix of 295/35/18 yokos or 275/40/18 crs' on the rear.

OG M2, looking at the RE71RS 255/275 aspect 35 on both and 19's as well this year. No camber correction on the front. Curious if any rubbing experienced with those sizes.

Curious about logic behind tire and wheel choice. Why these compounds front and rear with those wheel choices?

Just tire size availability. Comp can't run 18s in the front which really limits tire sizes when you are trying to be on the pointy end of this retarded hobby lol.

With that said I did get some 19 inch wheels and put on 255/275 RE71rs on them. Honestly despite giving up alot of tire, these tires are imo the best thing you can put on for street class. Once again the comp gets hosed with tire sizing but I absolutely love these tires. Not as much forward grip, but the lateral grip and support is great. The feedback is best in class as well, you can make minor adjustments on the limit and the car will react. If only bridgestone would make a 265/35 285/35 or 275/30 295/30 it would be perfect imo. Here is the video from the past weekend. Also no rubbing at all with 255/35/19s in the front.

Thanks for the info. I haven't upgraded the brakes on mine so looking for good 19" combos that might cross over to HPDE events.

Finally had the camber correction knuckles installed and had the car aligned.

Number looks good overall but unless I am mistaken they dialed too much toe in the rear.

What should 1/16th toe in convert to in degrees?

You need the diameter of the tire to convert. Assuming stock 265/35-19 at 26.3", that gives 0.147" per side, total of 0.294" from your settings. For 1/16", 0.0625", per side, you'd want 0.14 degrees on each side. Here's a calculator: https://robrobinette.com/ConvertToeDegreesToInches.htm

Thanks, that helps

One last question on alignment, do I actually have toe out in the rear instead of toe in?

Thought toe in was positive.

If the rear was toed out, you would know it. The car would feel unstable, squirrelly, hard to drive straight ahead at speed, etc.
