@JKen_0115 I put 6.5ish in my last tank and it's been great. Anywhere from 6-6.5

With my FBO setup, 300-cell DP, Dinan turbo, and Dorch Stg 1 pump, I will get intermittent HPFP drop outs on E50 if outside temps are 45F or lower. Not too big of a deal b/c I can take the mix down to E40-45 and the car has no issues. So, assuming the stock turbo is a slight bottleneck vs the Dinan turbo I think a Stage 1 pump will work fine in 30-40F weather with the Stg 2+ E30 tune and half 93/half E85. Worst case, you may have to drop the Emix down slightly when it’s really cold out. Before I started down this path I was targeting ~440whp b/c I don't think there's any way in the world to keep the car cool enough on track on a hot summer day with more power than that, so that was going to be my max power target anyways. I then back of napkin calc'ed that a Stage 1 pump would be maxed out around 440whp with half E85 at lower temps, and I was able to pick up a Stg 1 pump at the time for $999. So, I went for it and proceeded down the path of maxing out my setup, and we found both the Dinan turbo and the Stg 1 pump max out around that power level. I don't plan on adding more power and I'm really enjoying the fast spool up of the smaller turbo (500wft-lbs @ 2500rpm!), so the Stg 1 pump is just enough for my purposes. If you plan to push beyond where I'm at, get the Stage 2. Last edited by ZM2; 11-22-2020 at 09:36 AM.. |

@ZM2 would the stage 2 HPFP help with the drop outs you're experiencing in colder temps? (45 or below) vs stage 1?

The drops out for me are only when it’s cold out and at the top of 2nd gear if I punch it and let the car kick down. It doesn’t happen often and is resolved with an E40 vs E47 mix. Our cars make more power and flow more fuel when it’s cold out, and that’s why this issue appears in cold temps. It’s the same issue that many of us had when running the Stg 2 E30 map on the OE HPFP. So, if you plan on staying on the stock turbo, a Stage 1 HPFP should be fine. Altho, a lot of guys going this path plan on upgrading the turbo later, and should go Stage 2 HPFP. I haven’t checked Spool, but Dorch pumps are 15% off this week for Black Friday. Great deal whether you pick Stage 1 or 2. Dorch Engineering has been very responsive to any questions I’ve had thru my build. Last edited by ZM2; 11-22-2020 at 12:04 PM.. |

Thanks for this detail explanation. I have the same target as yours and I probably will just stay on STG1. I drive the car around the town only, not track the car at all. I definitely like the smaller turbo with fast spool up. You're right because Dorch is having the great sales this week and I don't want to miss out that opportunity. BTW, I read some thread regarding the mixing ratio. I believe I need to do 50/50 93 octane and E85 right? I saw you mentioned 91/E85 in the other thread. It seems like the same result after used the E85 calculator. |

On the low end let’s say your regular pump fuel has no ethanol content and your flex fuel E85 was actually only E70. Half/half would still get you E35, which is plenty for the OTS. On the high side, let’s say your regular pump is E15 and you have pure E85 to mix with. Half/half is E50, which is fine to run, as well, and will give you a little added octane boost. You may just run into some of the issues I mentioned with a high Emix if it’s cold out and your have a Stg 1 HPFP. |

@ZM2 dyno looks great!
It's funny, I was driving around the other night and after a solid pull I was thinking my car would be right where yours is in terms of hp/tq. I predicted mine would hit 450whp (max) & 480wtq. Pretty spot on! I'll try to get my dyno in as well in these next few weeks. It's a great amount of power JKen_0115 a big step up from what we're used to in the N55. I struggle finding places to open it up, but once she gets going it's like a bull in a china shop & I love the POP you get when you're clicking through gears under WOT. That torque shove is a nice boost of momentum when it's timed with a crisp shift. I've seen plenty of people bog these N55/54's with bad shifting under WOT pulls. For the street/highway a pure turbo would be lovely. I wouldn't mind 500whp to 7k

JKen_0115 Ideally you should test the actual ethanol content at your E85 gas station at least once. It will help you or anyone else who's interpreting your data logs frame the information better.
Just know that unless you run your car to empty before every fill-up and you're precise in your mixes, over the course of 10 fill-ups your mix could either be too low or too high (Aim for higher...). At OTS and stock turbo power levels nothing terrible should happen, but having a flex fuel solution is the ultimate answer which doesn't rely on estimates.

Where’s all the guys running the Stg 2+ maps with their numbers?
So, I know this is invalid bc it’s a tiny bit over -1% slope, but there are no flat, long roads around here! I’ll have to get out of town sometime. |

We’ve literally had rain and now snow for months over here. Got the nice cool temps so just waiting for that dry day to get the run in. I’m predicting 7.6/7.7 for my car. |

I should have mine on the dyno in a couple weeks. Hoping to get pulls for Stage 2, Stage 2+ Racegas, and Stage 2+ E30.

Glad they’ve decided to go ahead with the 93 stage 2+ Map.
With the pump fuel we have in the uk we tend to see a 25/30 hp gain from the stock hpfp to upgraded hpfp with the obvious map changes. So to me worth while. |
