295/30-18 Fitment Question

Hi,
Have a set of Apex 18" staggered going on car. 9.5 et28 fr and 10.5 et40 rr.

Has anyone fitted the 265/35 front and 295/30 rear Cup 2's. Any issues with the shorter rear tire as it is a 30 aspect vs 35.

Thanks,
Chet

Not a cup2 but I've fit 295-18-30 RE71rs on rear with 41 offset. No issues. 10.5 wheel.

Room to go wider in my opinion

I’ve run 305/30/19 19x10.5 ET45 RE71R and 305/35/18 18x10.5 ET40 Toyo RR in the back on a lowered car, so could def go wider than 295 on 18s. Altho, not many tire choices for 305 in 18s, just the RR.

I personally don’t like the feel of a shorter rear tire, but guessing most people wouldn’t notice. On the street, the TC can give you fits around corners until it learns your setup change and the shorter rear.

Keep in mind if you're still at stock ride height, like mine is, it will look like a monster truck with the 30 18s. Functions great, but asthetically it looks like poop.

Having a smaller diameter rear tire vs the front can randomly trip up the DSC and cause it to kick in. I would run a 295/35/18 on the rear and yes they can fit. At worst try to keep them the same diameter (running square setup) or rear a bit larger diameter as per the stock front:rear ratio if you want to avoid this potentially happening. Otherwise just know it might happen.

Does it fix things to run dsc off? Next track event I'm planning to run no nannies. Saving for Nitrons, so probably not until next Sep or Oct

I run 275/35/18 with 295/30/18 with mdm and haven't had any issues. Only problem I've had is running out of gear to close to the braking zone to shift. Will run 295/35/18 on those tracks.

I experienced the same thing at the last track day.

Went with 265/35 and 295/35 Bridgestone’s. Sizing off the Apex fitment info.
Hopefully works without issues.
Thanks.

Yes DSC off and it will not happen. With a smaller diameter in the rear the car can get tripped by the higher number of rear tire revs than it expects based off what the front is doing and trip the DSC very momentarily. With MDM giving more leeway in slippage it doesn’t happen as much as with DSC on. This happens commonly but not saying it will absolutely happen moving right to that stagger - just something to be aware of.

I went with Yokohama Advan A052 265/35/18 up front and 295/35/18 in the rear, 10x18" ET 28 up front and 11x18" ET 44 in the rear. Rubbed through the rear wheel liner because of Tiergarten at the Ring but that was with stock dampers/lowering springs, 3 people in the car and pretty much full tank. With slightly stiffer suspension and not so much dead weight it will be fine. Looks the business as well. Went with this setup to be able to use MDM at the Ring without tripping the DSC so easily.

80% of the guys with BMW M2 on Nordschleife are running with Nankang AR-1 295/30/18 tires in the rear.

I just installed 275/35 and 295/35 Bridgestone's. Car is stock suspension still. No fitment issues. Will need some negative camber up front when it is lowered though. The rears could use spacers to flush them up.

My rear 295/35–18 RE-71R’s do rub slightly on big dips inside left side rear finder. I checked and there is nothing to roll there as inside lip is tucked in already. Maybe a smidge more rear camber will help.
