Parking permit stuck between windshield and dash
So this morning I tossed my parking permit onto the dashboard in a hurry and it just slid under the windshield, anyone have suggestion on how to take it out?

May have to see if you can get a very thin knife down there, and somehow get the permit stuck to the knife. If the permit is thick enough, perhaps you can stab a very sharp knife into the edge of it, enough that the permit will slowly come out as you withdraw the knife.
Otherwise, perhaps you can use a knife to press the permit against the windshield and slowly pull it out... Sorry... that's all I got. |

Being in the car wash biz, I can offer this tidbit of advice...super strong vacuum with "crevice" tool attached, run along crevice between glass and dash and it should suck that sucker out of there

Put some double stick tape on the end of a frosting spatula, then slide it down there and stick it. Frosting spatula should be thin enough while retaining some flexibility so you have good control. Should do the trick!

Happened to me last week. After driving some time the permit went so deep that I couldn't reach nor see it from the top.
I used my interior removal kit to remove the panel on the side of the dash, that's revealed when you open the door. I could see it after I removed the panel and barely squeezed my arm inside to grab it. I was lucky it fell more toward the driver's side. Took me 10 mins tops. |

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...7#post22867787 I had a windshield replacement and asked the guy to look for it and he couldn’t see it, it was already too far down the dash. Ironically, What finally got it out was an autocross event! First run and I felt something in the footwell. After reaching the staging area I look down and sure enough it had gone all the way through and fallen out thanks to being shaken around on track.

I had this happen in my 3er. Took a dull knife and stuck some tape on the end of it, pushed the trim by the windshield down with one hand and then touched the parking pass with the tape. Fished it right out.

This also happened to me in the first few weeks of owning the car.
I think it's still there. |

Between fits of laughter and amazement the service crew were able to remove the seat and pry the phone out. They still remember the incident 15 years later. |
