That's why you get everything in writing and signed by both parties
Unless it's a legally binding document it doesn't matter what 'deals' you have with your dealer even if it's in writing. They can still turn around and say "we changed our minds" at the last min.

Something must be lost in translation here or just a typo. What front axles on the M3/M4?

"The high-performance chassis utilizes the lightweight aluminum intensive front and rear axles from the BMW M3/M4."

That is Car and Driver just adding $995 (destination charge) to the existing base price of the 2018 M2 ($54,500). It is not meant to be an estimate for the M2C.

The CEO of M division already said it will be priced between the existing M2 and M4. I'm confident a $1k increase is not happening. It will probably between $59k-$62k.

Just looked at it, and if you click the info bubble, it says this includes destination fee. Isn't that just today's MSRP ($54,500) plus the $995 destination? I don't think they have a real number yet.

The M sport seats are not stadard, but they said pricing would not be revealed until mid May. You can read that in two ways; full pricing or general pricing. When they do release the info it's in two guides. The pricing guide and the ordering guide. Both have full breakdowns for the base cost as well as for every option. So, that's not to say some automotive journalists don't already know the base price. We already know EVO (in UK) announced the base price, so maybe they know in the US as well.

Patiently waiting and losing my mind.

Not bad. Better than the M4 CP. They definitely tuned it well enough.
You still know it's a S55, with the empty rasp echos, but best sound from it so far.

That's true. I have other dealers as a backup too. Good thing is there are hundreds of BMW dealers in the country and I don't mind contacting each every one of them till I get what I want. If I can't, M2 is not the only best thing in the world. There are always other options

Hi,

Been patrolling this forum for months
I'm glad to see the official launch. Hope BMWNA hurries up with the pricing/options.

I spoke to my dealer and i'm first on the "list" for a 2019 M2 Competition. But he's totally clueless when it comes to any news.

Thanks

$55,495. is the current M2 price with destination. I don't think we should get our hopes up on this one...

Well Jason's original post with press releases specifically states (emphasis mine):

The new, standard M Sport seats are a real highlight in terms of both form and function. The bucket-style shape borrows heavily from motorsport and provides drivers with optimized support, while the headrests are integrated into the seat back rest. The backrest also features an illuminated M2 logo.

And we already know the US M2 previously was almost completely optioned up with very few available options compared to some other markets.

Regardless I obviously have no idea nor inside info; just an excited amd confused overgrown child waiting for full info.

Haha, sorry about that! Still just trying to soothe my self-inflicted wounds of not waiting a bit longer to pull the trigger on an M2.

A lot of the wording was misleading, although I don't believe it was done so intentionally. I can assure you the M sport seats are optional, just like the new wheels, the upgraded brakes etc.

Well done.
Exactly.

First mod...I am glad it's a totally separate piece, so removing will be a cinch.

"Production of the new M2 Competition starts this Summer. The initial deliveries will start end of August or early September depending on your market. We intend to supply and produce for the U.S. market first, since it is our most popular market for the M2. Still, due to the transport time to the U.S., the time frame of the first deliveries are expected to be quite similar across the world."

I actually like the fact that the peak torque doesn't come until 2350rpm. This might be BMW's solution for putting the power down better.
