Historically on other series (1-series, 3-series, 5-series) HUD availability on the M models has gone hand-in-hand with HUD availability on the base models. I don't think they want to go through the engineering expense for just one model. That said, if parts can be re-purposed from the M3/M4 w/o significant additional engineering-work/testing on the M2 it may still be a possibility.
