The new design has some quirks, I think its a natural extension of design language for the 2er from F -> G series. Proportions and head/tail light design feel a little forced, like they are designing for M-badged models instead of slapping an M badge on a BMW.
Is everyone still of the opinion that the G87 will in fact not be more radically designed and align with the G80/2? To me it feels like we are looking at what we all thought would be the M2, so what are they cooking up in Garching so that the G87 gets all the likes?

I said this somewhere else but I think we need to see in the flesh to truly gauge it... it def looks better than the M3 initially did.
What looks real goofy to me are those rear taillights and door handles... again in real life it may be better. As far as a car, the interior is a huge upgrade... however the weight is just appalling and ultimately it comes down to what sort of dynamics the car will have. Will the M2 be even heavier? Seems Crazy

If this is accurate it solidifies the F87 CS as a modern classic, do not want: https://www.bmwblog.com/2021/08/07/n...etty-accurate/

I don't completely hate it….it's not as ugly as the M3/4. (But that isn't saying much)

It will be interesting to see how the longer hood changes the perception of being able to easily place the car. I find the current length and slope allows me to easily place the nose in both low speed and high speed situations. It was one of the things I didn't like about the f-type.
