the sound of the Remus exhaust is very disappointing: I directly heard a low snoring sound without charm IMHO, as long as you do not install a link pipe impossible to have a correct sound

Imo the two that have sounded the best to my ear on video are the Eisenmann and IPE. I sway a bit more towards IPE.
The recent videos demonstrating the AA EL midpipe are also on point. |

Eisenmann is a quality German product but there is a resonance around 3500 rpm (drone) very annoying IPE I do not know except on Utube

That's very good to know about the Eisenmann. I'm not planning to upgrade the exhaust, but I admit that the equal length midpipe makes a world of difference on the S55 sound in the sound clips I've heard. Most of the exhausts seem to chase a deeper v8 sound, which to me, fall short and don't sound right. Anyhow, I'm interested in where you land and look forward to seeing and hearing the end result.

I have an Inconel Kline exhaust on 2 of my cars and I am totally satisfied he replied that the development of an exhaust for M2 was not planned at the moment His answer : Hello, I have talked to a BMW technician, I am afraid the M4 system is different. If we do develop something for the M2 Competition, I will let you know. My pleasure, Felix

Akrapovic has one thing over all other exhausts and that is reduced weight...something like 20lbs over stock exhaust. Plus the removal of secondary cats with evo-link and it is the best option out there. If all you care about is sound then it's purely subjective.

E46 M3 CSL hallmark airbox glory. 02:03 and 07:23 for higher revs:
Even the marmot (Murmeltier) at 00:57 was impressed:

With respect to Akrapovic on the M2C /CS.
I had a chance to hear in person Akra slip-on on an M2C without OPF. And I did like it. Later on I heard in person Akra rear muffler in combination with Akra link pipe on another M2C without OPF. And the sound was just amazing. The problem for me was that I didn’t want to risk the BMW warranty and thus thought that link pipe Akra is a no go for me as it would need DME tune to avoid CEL. But since you said this AK motion unit helps to avoid OPF without the need to do the tune, then I am prepared to pull a trigger to the Akra slip on + link pipe. |
