This what happens when you renew your plate when tired.
I ended up working pretty much through an entire weekend, with very little sleep. On the following Monday morning, I pulled out the registration renewal for my M2C and headed to the site. I was tired, I had transferred my plates from my old car, they were a bit beat up and boring. I did something silly and ordered custom plates on a whim. They were supposed to take 8-10 weeks but showed up on Saturday in the mail.
Washed the car on Sunday, and then put my shiny new BMW geek plates on her today (I guess I'll leave these on the car if I ever sell it): |

Bought it.
It's *exactly* as it was coming off the carrier-- All I had the dealer do was wipe down the windows so I could see out of it enough to get it home. It goes in for paint correction, PPF and ceramic coating tomorrow-- so I'll *really* have delivery on Friday. Going to pull the reflectors, the M2 side flash and the keyhole cover tomorrow and replace them so it'll be ready for detailing. R. |

The ship was only a day or two in delay. We picked up some additional delay getting it from the Port to the dealer in Denver, but it all worked out-- about 4 days later than originally planned. That being said, the SA said he now has nine cars stuck in the port and transport is shut down for the moment, so they're stuck there. |

I personally watched them pull the shipping blocks, initialize/update the computer, and charge the battery while I was there. Everything else was done per the PDI checklist. R. |

Dropped it off at the detailer's today. Parked next to a Bentley, so that was nice.
The paint correction/PPF/ceramic coating guys were in the shop literally wearing full-body typed suits. I think I chose wisely. Also installed the hood sound insulating pad, IND matte slatted rear reflector inserts (a *complete* and utter B*stard, IND painted SOM front reflector inserts, IND painted SOM side markers, Nuclear valve stem caps (my Element, my V-Rod and my GS all have the same ones), Uxcell USB Type-A anti-dust plugs, MP front and rear floor mats, and sprayed Cosmoline RP-342 rust preventative spray on the interior of brake rotors. The dealer installed the MP CF center steering column trim and the European aspheric side-view mirrors at no charge before I picked it up. And, when I went to pull the wheels to install the IND slats today, I found that they'd put on wheel locks at no charge. So, that was nice. The trick on the IND rear slats? Use curved needle nose pliers-- the ones that sort of curve 45-50 degrees. It makes the job a UNSPEAKABLY easier. 1.5 hours for the first one, 20 minutes for the second one. That secondary bumper barrier in there is a right bugger! R. |
