Used M2 Values
Looking for an N55 6 Speed M2. Values dont seem to be dropping below 40k- which is weird because I see some 2018s for low 40s and 2016s for 40 with similar miles and options. Whats going on here? Why isnt the M2 dropping below 35k even after 4 years of production? When do you guys think they will be going for low 30s?

Just because something is listed for $X, doesn't mean its worth that. Have you tried making reasonable offers for these? What does KBB say about the values?

The only ones I see below $35K are high mileage examples (55K and 65K miles). I shopped last summer for a 2017 or 2018 6-speed M2 with under 10K miles, and prices have definitely softened. Quick nationwide search shows asking prices still hovering around 45K, whereas last summer asking prices were closer to 47-48K (on average).

6MTs holding value much better than DCTs from what I've seen...much less supply at the moment. DCTs seem to outnumber 6MTs like 5 to 1 on the used market.
FWIW I just posted in another thread that there is a 2017 DTC w/only 9k miles at Carmax listed for $42K. If I didnt want a manual, Id be all over that. That said I'll likely be closing a deal on a 2018 6MT with 8k miles for $47K shortly. Willing to pay for the stick

Definitely. And made worse by the pre-owned search on bmwusa.com (https://cpo.bmwusa.com/certified-used-inventory) listing all M2s as "manual". |

just low supply of m2s produced is keeping m2 values up...so its not following the normal bmw depreciation curve.
also not many small luxury sports cars in manual with m2 utility out there at around 40k except the m4 and no mustangs and corvettes dont count.

I was curious, so looking at US M2 production counts: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1404565
2016: 267 2017: 1294 2018: 1360 Total: 2921 N55 6MTs produced for US |

i see plenty of them under $40k some with manuals and plenty with lower miles (20-30k miles).
i will buy one as a rough use, street parked beater under $30k. Hopefully won't take too much longer! the biggest reasson why M2 prices are dropping so fast is because they just made SO many of them. cool cars though!

I have no intention of trading my M2 in, but I've been receiving the following email from my dealer.
"You have a special opportunity to upgrade to a new 2020 M2 Competition Coupe. We estimate you have $34,675 in trade equity toward your new BMW—simply by trading in your current 2017 BMW M2 Coupe." |

I have a 2017 Perf Ed 6 speed listed here with 5,200 miles and I am asking $45k and zero interest.
Like the first guy said, make a few offers, you never know... But not to me. I'll trade mine if I need to when M2CS gets here.

Ummm the m2 values ARENT dropping fast bro- thats what im saying. Its been almost 5 years since the first m2 was released and a mid mileage one is still only around 10k off which is frustrating

The only $10k off is a bit misleading. Prices are dropping, but many 16 & 17 owners paid over MSRP to get their hands on one. So the depreciation to what people actually paid for the early ones is more like $15k or $20k.

Shop for a higher mileage car in good shape. Miles don't hurt these cars at all. Its all about condition. I am at 42,000 miles and 27 track days without a hitch.
If you are waiting for a 30k M2 you probably have a bit of a wait. |

Also the lease deals were terrible so the lease bros didn't lease the car and then all returning them at the same time. Instead the m2 had buyers who actually wanted the car and supply was somewhat limited so if you bought one, you actually really wanted it.

I just bought a mint 2017 6MT w/exec, with 22k miles for 41. Seemed like a fair price to me. Bought at a BMW dealer, not CPO. It was an M2C trade-in.

yeah the m2 depreciation has been relatively flat compared to other bmws. I bought my 2017 m2 6spd exe pck with 3500miles for 43k last yr and i see m2s with higher mileage selling for more then 43k now.
i think the m2c is depreciating at a much faster rate then the 0g m2s. |
