Autotecknic Competition Paddles in LBB

The inside of the M2 is a little dark so I decided to add some color to ours. I get a pair of Autotecknic paddles in LBB to match the car. The color match is very good.

Very simple install. Taking the M steering wheel off is 100,000,000 times easier than the sportline wheel in my F31

They add just a splash of color to liven up the interior. The wife's first reaction was "OOOOH, pretty blue!"

Very cool. I've had these on my wish list for a long time. But decided to chill on the upgrades for a bit, because I was spending more time upgrading my car than I was working.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with this condition.

Can you tell me... is it the same feel if you grab the top portion (in red) to shift compared to the middle portion (in blue)? I've heard that due to the extra length, grabbing the outer portions results in a looser feel that is not as crisp and tactile. If you know what I mean.

If you try and shift at the very top it does get a bit spongy. Not really a problem for me since I drive at 9 and 3.

The reason is not the shifters themselves, they are solid, but the design of the switch mechanism that they are attached to which can't deal with force applied so far from its center. No paddle which is longer will be able to overcome that problem.

Would you say the very top section is consistently usable? I drive at 9/3 and 10/2 as well, but the extra length might be nice when turning.

I would not call it usable in any real sense. It is really a cosmetic mod.
