Still strange we have not heard any news for US bound cars.
That's not a US Spec M2 CS, you can tell because there's no front reflectors.
Dave

Not to mention the presence of European plates. . . or, at least, mounts for them. 🤣

😂 I know it's not US spec...that is why in my paragraph I asked why we have not heard about any updates to US bound cars...

All good fellas 👍

This feels so close to a review. Glad to finally see a blue one with some good outdoor pics.

Is it just me, or does this gold wheel have the scratched barrel issue? I plan to get wheel insurance for this reason alone. Every time it happens, new wheel.

Here is what I had read about the M4CS. It's a user review and not an article.

Interior noise: It will be louder than a non-CS M4 or M3cs because of the packed fiber material for the door panel. Not overbearing by any means, but it's not luxury car quiet. The good news is that there doesn't seem to have any auto sound generating device like other M4's, so the interior isn't piped with simulated engine sounds. In a way, it's quieter yet noisier at the same time. The noise that comes through is more road noise, engine noise, and exhaust noise (adding to the raw experience).

I wouldn't imagine that they removed ASD from the CS cars. It is definitely something that should be done, either with a harness or via coding. ASD sucks.

'Scratched barrel issue?'

The wheel looks in perfect functioning order to me, and BMW tire/wheel insurance does not cover wheel 'replacement' for a 'scratch.'

For additional cost, 'scratch repair' coverage can be obtained but, again, nobody going to replace a scratched wheel with a new wheel.

I do not even see a scratch but, supposing one exists, that is purely cosmetic and should be an expected 'road war wound' . . . particularly with a 'track focused' vehicle designed to be, well, beat on.

Once you start beating on that M2CS over some NC back roads and track, the least of you concerns will be wheel scratches, paint chips, windshield nicks, etc that accrue. . . pushing the (safe) limits of the M2CS performance will become your primary, if not sole interest.

The wheel insurance they tried to sell me on the Comp with the 788 wheels was near $2000. For that price, I could buy a nice set of Titan wheels, or some BBS's. Passed on it for that exact reason.

I'm glad you posted this. I was under the wrong impression that the blemish repair was included. We'll see what I can negotiate for the plan. I don't plan to PPF the car because the little dings and chips don't bother me. I do plan to ceramic coat it because I do like a clean car and don't like to spend a lot of time cleaning.

As an aside, I've always ensured that my tire guy uses the flange plate adapter that secures the wheel through the lug holes on the balancer - as opposed to the large round rubber block, collett, that can be used and cranked down against the wheel. This applies to Hunter balancers, but I assume it's common on others too. Not only does this secure the wheel thoroughly, it prevents marks/scratching on the surface of the wheel from the collett rubber thingy.

Not my car, not my money, but I HIGHLY suggest PPF'ing the front at least. I am going to end up getting my front bumper repainted and then PPF'd because I can't stand driving around a $60k car with damage all over the front of it. Im 7000 miles in and it looks horrible. Wood on 485 that was run over by a transfer truck did a number on one of the winglets, a construction truck dumping rocks everywhere and putting a nice deep DENT in the bumper messed up the other winglet. The paint is thin and gets damaged easily. I am 100% having mine repainted at some point.

Just front bumper or bumper and hood? I could get onboard with the forward facing facia. I left it on the front (grill area) of the jag when I had the car paint corrected. No ceramic coating just wax. It does make getting the bugs off easy.

I'd love to do the whole front end and mirrors, but not sure. The front bumper is a definite though. The fenders seem to fare pretty well, as does the hood. My bumper, not so much.

I'll add it to the list. My detailer did mention that he has a guy if I wanted to add PPF. It's too that expensive for the front bumper.

Not sure if this is new, or even an option on this car via update.

On ID7, in some newer models, you are able to fine-tune and individually control the intensity of the ASD, instead of being set based on mode.

But don't get it twisted, ASD still lives on; in my brother's M340i, it's so loud, that I sometimes put the windows down, so people can hear my "exhaust," from inside the cabin...

Yes, Poochie, I recall a spec review of the M2CS describing the 'new' exhaust . . . as ASD enhancement.

Not going to try and identify or verify source, but I have little doubt the M2 CS comes equipped with ASD.

If it's anything like the M4 CS, then it does have a "new" exhaust but I'm pretty sure it's still augmented with ASD, especially since the M2 CS shares the same Harman Kardon setup, as the standard models.

Forward to 4:00 for a taste:

Part of what I found interesting watching that video was their raving about how good the exhaust sounded (which I thought it sounded pretty decent as well) given all the griping on here about how bad all S55s sound.
