I wonder how many people will really be impressed by the M2 Comp being a tenth quicker. I would have liked to see it under 4 seconds.

Let's see real reviews. My gut feeling tells me that this car is seriously under rated.

So HKS is a white with elements of metallic in a silver hue.
A mineral white that can vary to silver rather than pearl/beige.

That front grill alone is a deal breaker. So disgusting.

They may have addressed it.

...while at the rear the M division has used ball joints in the suspension for greater stiffness and precision.

I’ve just picked up my 2018 M2 and loving every minute of it. Looking at the what Has been done to M2 comp it will please a lot of current M2 owners who plan to upgrade as a natural progression, whilst at the same time disappoint others. I like it but once you factor in the options it would of been beyond my price point but would definitely consider in a couple of years time once demand and excitement dies down

The weight quoted seems low for US spec cars. They call out the M2 weight as 1495 kg (3295 lbs) and the M2C's as 1550 kg (3417 lbs). But, BMW USA lists the curb weight as 3450 lbs for the manual and 3505 lbs for the automatic.

As for pricing, you cannot simply do a currency conversion from UK prices since those include VAT etc. I think the base price for a US car with a manual will be 1.2% of 54, 500 = ~$55, 150. A steal!!

Now who wants an almost brand spanking new MGM 2018 M2 with 350 miles on the clock and full front Xpel Ultimate film for a huge discount?

I'll be the dissenter.. I love the way the front looks. 😀

The grill truly looks like an evolution to me. And considering all manufacturers are doing the big grill thing nowadays, it's not surprising.

Anyway, I don't really care for a fancy interior and minor quibbles on aesthetics. I just want to drive the damn thing.

There is more to the motor upgrade (N55+ -> S55) than just the 0-60 figure. It will haul on the straights at all the tracks and the IATs and OTs will barely break a sweat. Let's celebrate the M2C w/6MT for this awesome price rather than hate on it. It means more enthusiast cars for all - now and down the line (as used and new). This is a good thing.

When i watched the spy testing on the track, i thought the comp looked a bit twitchier. Now i'm pretty certain the handling feel has changed.

You can't convert straight across. Price in the UK already includes 18% tax, for example.

What is important is the increase, which in the UK is only about $800 GBP over the previous model.

I'm sure IND will do some magic for those it bothers. I don't think the joined kidney design is that dramatic on the darker colors.

So I guess the folks at EVO magazine have jumped the gun a bit here by releasing this or ?? Thinking what? They will drop a "scoop" and sell more magazines/subscriptions? They know how the internet works, right? Well it's out there now...

My currency converter says $47,260 British Pounds (from the story) converts to $67,377 USD and 58,278 Euros. That's assuming equipment, specification and tax levels will be the same from country to country, which never happens. I'm not willing to assume the M2 Competition will be almost $14,000 more than the M2 LCI at introduction ($53,500), but I can believe the U.S. price will go up by 10 percent.

Current M2 has a hard time putting down power from a 0mph stop. That is a RWD tradeoff I am happy to live with.....a more powerful engine will obviously have the same issue. From a roll this thing will be an absolute rocket.

Surprised to see it wieghs more than an Audi RS3. Will be interested in that additional 122lbs (most likely all applying to the front engine) changing how the car feels? Also, if options increase or lower weight? Is the additional 55kg a direct comparison no optioned 6MT vs no optioned 6MT?

Understand, which is why I think guessing the price is futile at this point. Are we comparing apples to apples? Did the U.K. have two equipment levels for the M2 like other countries? Typically the higher-spec one was more comparable to what we got in the U.S.

Evo are a very reputable magazine who get these kinds of studio walk-rounds all of the time. I'd be extremely surprised if they broke a press embargo.

It’s never a straight currency conversion.

Current UK msrp for N55 M2 is $46,695. If you do a conversion, the N55 M2 should cost $66,570 in US...but it doesn’t.

Just take the percentage increase over current UK price, which is about 1.25%. US M2C should be around $55,200. If all things are equal.

Unless they're trying to get on BMW's banned list for jumping the embargo, it's probably just a case of the mail service doing a much better job than usual and getting the magazines out early.

Or not.
