I don't understand why I'm still a sucker for the 1M. I will never get over that car

Yeah i'm an MT guy as well. I'm curious about the Miata now. The best shifters I've owned are as follows:
Evo 8 5MT GT500 6MT 911 GT3 6MT. I wholeheartedly agree with you. The manual feels "okay" in the M2/3/4 but just not anything to write home about. Why other cars that cost so much less are able to source great units but BMW doesn't is beyond me. |

Any plans to change out the seats to lighter weight buckets? Can the stock seats be used with harness? With the integrated headrest I new knew if M4 owners could use something like the schroth quick fit because the headrest doesn't allow getting the straps on top of your shoulders.

regarding the steering, I read or saw somewhere written that BMW made some changes to the EPS on the next gen M3. I have to dig up the article on what adjustment they made....

cntzl rad car and build, thanks for sharing!
I just ordered a Remus cat-back exhaust system for my F80 m3, hope they make one for the M2C soon, one vote that direction if so. Good luck with the rest of the build!

As I mentioned in my previous posts, I really wanted to get the CF roof for the looks only but it's still not available from the factory or the port. Besides the cost, the process to install the CF roof still makes me uncomfortable due to how involving it is (especially for a brand new car). Therefore, I decided to get the roof wrapped in gloss black for the friction of the CF roof cost. I'm quite happy with the end result and still have the option to remive it and get a CF roof down the road in the future.

Seeing your comments about not hearing the exhaust from inside the cabin (combined with light weight theme), does that mean you're also going to take some sound insulation (and/or the rear seats) out?

I don't think the lack of exhaust note inside the cabin (once ASD is off) has much to do with the sound insulation for this specific case. Both M2 and M2C already have minimal sound insulation (I couldn't find the link but even BMW mentioned it in their press releases). I think main problem is the exhaust itself and me coming from an M4 with MPE. I believe even an axle back (such as MPE) would easily fix this problem. I'm planning to get AA midpipe when it's released for M2C and combine it with some axle back (stock, MPE, Remus etc).
