Can anyone confirm if I'm able to replace my OE BMW M2CS Alcantara steering wheel, with a heated M2 Competition’s black leather steering wheel? I’m not a fan of the Alcantara CS steering wheel, but I'll keep it in storage. I'd prefer the smaller grip and feel from the black leather M2C steering wheel.

I’m concerned that since the M2CS is not wired for a heated steering wheel, this replacement heated M2C steering wheel may possiblysend a fault code in the electronic system or cause other problems?

I’d appreciate it if any experienced M2C or M2 CS owner who may have already done this swap can confirm if this modification will work without any negative issues due to being wired for heating? Thank you!

Won't cause any issues. If you had a car with the feature and then removed the heated wheel, then you may have to do some coding but in your case the connector just won't be used.

I was hoping that the the only difference is that the wiring for heating function would not be connected! That's such good news, so thanks guys!

Just for clarification, since my OEM CS wheel is not heated, I ordered a new non heated OEM comp wheel. It took my shop less than a half hour to install. I'm not sure this specifically helps you, but I figured I would share.

Replaced... It is a very easy swap.

After some research, I’ve found that In Europe it’s actually possible to find some CS with an OEM leather steering wheel. It’s not like the one of the Competition models. It’s thicker, but it looks exactly the same.

I actually don't like this thick steering wheel.

It's too thick.

Every M2 CS came with an alcantara steering wheel from the factory.

A lot of people swapped it out instantly either because they don’t like it or because they wanted to preserve it
