I'll Take One of Every Color (BSM, MG, LBB, AW content enclosed)

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
This past weekend, the San Diego Chapter of the BMW CCA held a 2-county drive traversing some of the best backroads San Diego and Riverside Counties have to offer. The drive concluded at famous race car driver Boris Said's BMW of Murrieta dealership. There, he graciously provided lunch and a display of the Turner Motorsport e92 M3 GT Daytona #93 car and a new M4 GTS. Boris provided the club a tour of his facility, showing race memorabilia, photos, and telling stories of his racing career throughout the afternoon.

Among the group of 40-50 cars were several M2s. Some of you may recognize them from the Centennial ///M Tour European Delivery. You may recall the Centennial M2 Tour had plethora of M2s, M3s, and M4s. However a full representation of the M2 color palette was incomplete (there was no Sapphire Black Metallic during the Centennial ///M Tour).

Seeing this as an opportunity, we gathered the cars for group photos. Aside from BMW literature, I have personally have not seen a group shot of every M2 color (black sapphire metallic, mineral grey metallic, long beach blue metallic, and alpine white).

A big shout-out and thank you to Boris and his dealership for hosting us on a Sunday afternoon.

I hope you enjoy the shots!

Very nice, especially the BSM. It looks like it's about to perform a round-house kick to the face then ground 'n pound someone into submission. Straight viciousness.

Confirmed my BSM choice - they all look great but BSM just does it for me. Can't wait to see one in person (preferably mine!)

Always bet on Black !

Nice to see such a neat driving tour put on by the chapter... This is one of the very fun events that BMW CCA car club members enjoy.

Many chapters put on these drives and they generally are free to attend and provide a great way to meet and enjoy your BMW with other owners.

NO PHOTOS FROM THE driving tour ?

About time we have photos of all 4 colors together!

This was long overdue for peeps who are still undecided on what color to get.

Fangs are a key feature of the M2 bumper and need to be displayed. And of course LBB shows them off best :P

They are a tell tale sign an M2 is rapidly approaching from the opposite direction.

Too busy driving! However I was fortunate to chase a friend in an e36 M3 LTW while in my e36 M3 for the majority of the day.

I'm actually somewhat surprised the majority are favoring BSM. I would've thought any of the others would have secured a popular vote over BSM. All of the colors suit the M2 very well!

I think the only one I'm not a fan of here is the white. All of the other colors look awesome. White takes something away from the car for me. Maybe it loses some of the body lines

The lines of the AW M2 especially the rear quarter is quite obvious in person, just really hard to capture on camera.

The stripes on the AW car ruin what would have been a perfect shoot of all the colors. Those stripes are so ugly, it's criminal lol

As others have said, white is the worst color on the M2. For me it goes:

LBB = BSM > MG >>>>>>> AW

LBB is my top choice, but BSM looks so good on the M2.

The BS and the AW have the M Performance front which is a big plus in my book. I'm sure LBB and MG would look better with those fitted.

ps. Why do you use BSM but not MGM or LBBM. They are all metallics, right?

Because historically, BMW has offered Jet Black (Non metallic) and BSM (Metallic) on every model. So the Metallic at the end of the Black Sapphire name was to emphasize the difference between the two blacks and justify the price premium of BSM

I have seen every color except AW in person. They all look great in their own different ways. I am biased towards MG since that is more my style but you really can't go wrong with any of them!

BSM FTW!! From the other three, I used to like LBB quite a lot and am beginning to slightly dislike it and now prefer MG over it. Still do not like AW that much.

Anyway, quite happy with my choice of colour and with the fact it is not possible to get fed up with it.

I completely agree. And with the lineup of the four, it gets a little lost so it just looks like a marshmallow. I bet an individual shoot of it would make all the difference in the world in everyone's perception.

Simple oversight on my part. For whatever reason, people know the abbreviations of MG and LBB better than MGM and LBBM. There was a Black Sapphire on a prior gen Z4 that is not metallic, FWIW.

Absolutely agree. I go back and forth in my preference. I'm quite surprised by the volume of people saying they like BSM as the best. For me it's between MG, LBB, and AW. The order of which changes seemingly by the day.
