octane booster or E mix
Just curious, but is anyone using a octane booster that’s from SoCal or running an E mix? Wanted some more input because looking to push more power out of my N55 M2 without getting a DP.
Running basic BM3 STG 1 91 ACN with CTS CAI, CTS CP, and CSF FMIC. Thanks! |

Do not use booster octane, Ieave a orange residue all over your motor and spark plugs///
You can add one 1 gallon e85 to a full tank... You get 10-15 hp more .. Once you go down pipe. You won't go back, love the exhaust sound..

Yea I’ve been looking at a catted down pipe, but I’ve been very hesitant because of the smog check lol. Edit: or can I change the map to a stage 1 91/93? |

Moving to the e30 blend (safe for stock HPFP) was far better. |

Also how much E85 do you add for an E30? |

There are some very easy to use calculators online for E blending, but if you want to be accurate you will need to use both an E calculator and an ethanol testing kit (you can get these on amazon for a few dollars). E85 pumps specifically say that they can range from about 50% to 83% ethanol. Ideally, using true E85, you would add 3.5 gallons of e85 per tank. This assumes 85% ethanol in the E85 and 10% ethanol in the 91 octane. |

All the E30 logs I see on my cloud storage right now are partial throttle and incomplete runs, I'll take a log next time I use the E30 blend. Most of the time I stay on ACN 91 Stage 2 because I take the car to LA and SD often and it is a pain getting E85 consistently.
I'm actually going to switch over to the Stage 2 multimap tonight, it has the stage 2 ACN with the antilag, which is fun. EDITS: Edited some typographical errors Last edited by CalAcacian; 06-12-2023 at 01:22 PM.. |

Damn that’s a drive, going down the 5 past San Clemente is always a fun though. How are you liking the Stage 2 ACN? Getting my catted DP next week and was wondering what was the difference between stage 1 ACN. |

Stage 2 ACN is nice, but like all tunes/new parts you definitely get used to it. But doing back to back runs with Stage 2 ACN and stock you can absolutely feel a significant difference. Stage 2 E30 definitely is a nice bump in power over stage 2 ACN, and the rolling anti-lag is a riot, even if I only use it very rarely.

Just put in my highflow DP, ran stage 2 91ACN, and did a dyno run over at EAS in Anaheim (super chill guys)
My timing seems to be everywhere and wondering what your guys inputs were. Mods: CTS CP CTS CAI CSF FMIC VRSF Catted DP BM3 Stage 2 91ACN Here are the results. Big shout out to the guys at EAS, I have worked with Kevin on several orders, installs, maintenance visits, etc. over the years and they are awesome.
F87Tomei those logs look very, very odd to me. Good news is you aren't seeing knock, but the amount of timing correction says that something is going pretty wrong. You IATs do not seem like they should be problematic at all. We run an almost identical setup in the relevant points (I have a Dinan intake instead of a CTS, but otherwise the mods are the same), but my logs (at least street logs) don't have the same level of corrections on them. I am on the Stage 2 ACN 91 tune right now and will take a log on my way home to see, I'm in Irvine so we should be dealing with pretty similar conditions all the way around. |

Yea my timing is quite concerning for me. Wondering it’s my oem plugs, which I changed out like 3 weeks ago, or maybe it’s the octane levels. |

I had quite a bit of timing corrections on my old plugs (20k miles on them). Timing cleaned up on new plugs, but still pulled a tiny bit at the top end. Since your plugs are pretty fresh, I'm leaning towards octane issue. I ruled this out on my car by adding a gallon of e85 to a tank of 91. Timing corrections cleared up on the top end.
Now I'm just sticking to 91 and accepting the corrections. For kicks I logged the stock tune and it was pulling even more timing than stage 2 91 ACN. I was still on the same tank of pure 91 for the stock logs. |

I’ve resulted in running a methanol so it can purely just boost the octane. Don’t really wanna mess with e85 and mixing nor do I really have it conveniently close. |
