Anyone put on 30s yet on M2C yet

Thinking of changing tires to

275/30/19 front, and 295/30/19 rear

From what I've looked up it'll fit fine. Not sure if front 275 are necessary though, but the rear most defin needs it

Anyone able to comment on this for the M2C ito traction, handling, ride comfort, etc...

Thanks

There's a 20 mm difference between the front and the rear (stock 245 & 265), I wouldn't change that number, so if you must do a 295 out back, i would do a 275 up front.

I'm not saying the 275/30/19 won't fit up front because I don't know, but it's worth mentioning that if something fits on an OG M2 that doesn't necessarily guarantee it will fit the same on a M2C

True but with respect to wheels and tires, should be identical.

I've come across a few posts by M2C owners having issues with setups that supposedly should have worked without rubbing

The new front liners (especially the areas with the vents) do seem to have some impact (small as it may be) on available tire clearance

From what I've read (and because of this, what I'm now planning) 255/35 is the largest that will fit the front without rubbing issues with a stock suspension on an M2C.

You can go larger, but you're going most likely have to heat gun the shrouds.

Larger works if you go with a 30 aspect ratio instead of a 35.

That's what we are talking about here, 275/30/19

I have a set of 265/30/19 and 295/30/19 Michelin Cup 2s waiting to get mounted to a new set of M2C specific Titan 7 Forged wheels but have been laid up with a bad back for the last 2 weeks. I’ll let you know how they work as soon as I can get them installed. Killing me (both the back and the anticipation).

Can you tell me the difference in sidewall height between your old tires and new? I imagine the difference is minimal but just want to know.

I believe the overall height or diameter (can’t remember) difference is .3” so in theory that would make the side wall difference .15”. In other words not much. All specs are on thee Michelin website.

Perhaps a safer setup would then be :

265/30
285/30

What do you think 🤔

That's the Dinan recommended spec. I think the problem is that many popular tires aren't available in the 285/30/19 size.

That was my original thought as well but I spoke w/ TC, from TC Kline racing last time we were instructing at Thunderhill. They just finished setting up their new M2C for the track and he/the car are very quick. In his opinion the high torque developed by the stock (and particularly a tuned) M2C needs as much rear tire as possible to obtain maximum exit speed and to keep the rear end under control. I have hear many even going to 305s in the rear (which I may do given that 295 Michelin Cup 2s are out of production with no word on when/if they will comeback!

Let us know how your set up works out.

I can't really give a recommendation as I have never tried any of the sizes being discussed and there are too many variables and personal preferences to be considered

Check if any extreme summer tyres or even max summer tyres offer these sizes on their same product line

I searched, apart from the fairly old MPSS (which I don't like due to the soft squishy sidewall), only Bridgestone S007a and Pirelli Pzero Corsa A2 have these sizes

For example
Goodyear F1 SS doesn't offer the 265/30 19 but has the 285/30 19 and the 295/30 19.
Continental SC6 doesn't offer the 265/30 19 or the 285/30 19 but has the 295/30 19
PS4S has the 265/30 19 and 295/30 19 but doesn't have the 285/30 19

Currently running titan 7 ts5 with Toyo r888r on stock suspension with zero camber change. The widest I managed to go on the front was 265/30/19. On the rear I’m doing 295/30/19.

At speed, the car pushes a little (touch of understeer) but frankly it’s very manageable with throttle regulation and a bit of left foot braking. As for the rears, the 295 handles a loooot more power, particularly through the corner, despite what one would expect from a squarer shoulder.
