IC upgrade visibility

Bought my N55 M2 a few days ago. I want to buy an IC in a day or two since ive already noticed a pretty dramatic decrease in power from the 30 degree days and the 50 degree days. Currently eyeing the VRSF 5in stepped, CSF 5in, or wagner IC. My concern is if I get one of these in silver it may look too pronounced behind the grill.

Anyone have any pics of a silver IC installed? Or with a black on installed.

Black will look better since you won't see it as much but it'll heat up a little more. It really depends on what you care about more, form or function. If you're not tracking it I'd go black.

I think black heats up more when exposed to sunlight, which it's kind've shielded from. I don't think black heats up more from hot air passing through it than silver.

Here's mine after we installed a Wagner EVO 1 Competition IC.
I personally love it, especially since it goes with my White and Black theme. Pardon the poor lighting and cellphone quality...it was getting late in the day by the time we finished the install.

Honestly it's not that much more visible than stock which is already silver or bare aluminum. The most notable difference is that the end tanks are also silver instead of black on the stock FMIC so it appears to be wider

I supposed all of these have silver upgraded intercoolers. I was just looking through the mineral grey photos thread here. I'm sure you can find more with upgraded silver ICs in the other color picture threads. Also you can look for photos of Dinan M2s as they have a silver IC too.

black naturally absorbs heat thus heat soaking the cooler faster it will initially cool better but like marginally but heat soaks faster. if you look as most race cars including F1 all the coolers are silver which should say it all.

Have Wagner Evo comp 2, it's black, it's awesome. Always bet on black.

Knowing F1 it could also be that coating it black makes it 50mg heavier 😂

I have the ER in silver. It is MORE pronounced behind the bumper which is what I wanted tbh.

I’ve had my car into dealer for services and I have a CSF intercooler in aluminum color. They can’t tell (just doing oil changes they have not noticed it yet). They’d have to have another one next to it to do a comparison. I take everything back to stock for services except for the intercooler and charge pipe. There’s so few m2’s coming into the dealership as well.
