DCT Exhaust Note in Auto vs Paddles

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I've had the car for about a week now and just started using the paddle shifters. In sports+, the exhaust note seems to have come alive with paddles...way more so then in auto mode in sports+.

Is this how BMW intended it to be? Or is it the fact I'm reving out each gear a but higher than in auto mode thats causing the over run burbles and cracks to be that much more constant and aggressively pronounced?

My take is that it's this. I do the same and experience the same. Engine is winding down from high rpm's making all that noise in the exhaust.
