I can settle this now, my car just came in I ordered the black wheels.. The face of the rims are not black and unless BMW screwed up and put the wrong wheels on... I'm kind of bummed HS with black wheels would be awesome.

Edit: Internal dealer system build sheet says Black wheels.

The finish should look like the 666M black wheels on F82. It is a tinted clearcoat.

Bumping this up...It seems like all the "real-life" photos I can find are the 788M black wheels, not the bi-color ones. Or I can't tell the difference. My understanding is that both have silver machined front surfaces but the inner surface is gloss black on the black 788Ms and grey on the 788Ms. Does anyone have any real pictures of the bi-color 788Ms?

Thanks!

We racked our brains over this when the press cars starting appearing last year. In some lighting, you couldn't tell the wheels apart.

This was in person. The difference is definitely noticeable, although the black wheels as everyone knows by now aren't truly black.

19" M Double-spoke style 788 M, Black

I just bought an M2C in sunset orange and it got the 19" M Double-spoke style 788 M, Black, like described in the Vin decoder, I guess the black wheels are only available outside the US, and for the US market, they offer a Jet black finish that is a little dark than normal. If you check the BMW UK web site you will find this as an option, I.m from Bogotá so I think my car will have the fully black wheels. I will be posting pictures when it arrives, to show how the sunset orange combines with these wheels.

No, there are hundreds of pictures at this point - everyone has the same wheels and they are a dark tint just like the black 666M. The configurator pics are photoshops and wrong.

Look at my SO car above - those are the black wheels, 100%. As Chris said above, the configurator image of the black wheels is inaccurate.

Any more pics of the silver wheels? Looks interesting. The wheels themselves look a ton better as one color. I love my black wheels.

Love to finally see actual black wheels on the M2C. I still don't get why BMW calls the one set 'black.' I've already talked to my SA and I'm going to have the dealer paint my wheels the same black as the 763M matte black option.
