I totally agree. I love the natural sound of my M2 with M Performance exhaust.

Noticed in the Bootmod3 map settings there is an option to turn off the ASD. Is this essentially same effect as getting the bypass harness? Wondering if I should still get bypass since I can seemingly just shut it off through the map software.

Just installed my harness. Was messing around with trying to remove the connector when I realized I got the new harness which is directly plug and play. Other than that, very easy install. Going for a cruise now to test it out

Just got back from a little drive. Initially when I first started driving, I couldn't tell all that much. What really stood out in the change is downshifts and on the freeway. Before on downshifts, the ASD would give off a bassy boom everytime and on the freeway I no longer have that hum the whole time. Definitely like no ASD better.

The biggest difference comes in SPort and Sport+ modes.. ASD used to raise the volume of cabin drone in those modes; now there is no change inside the cabin, and no drone.

Funny you say that because I was switching between all 3 while driving just to confirm no change in sound as I was doing it lol. Odd at first since all I felt was the sharpness of the throttle change but no sound difference. Much better

The ASD harness should work with the new M2C, right?

follow these instructions to get to the amp.
Skip the steps where it says to swap the locking connector. Our new PNP harness does NOT need that to be done. Simply unplug the factory connector from the amp, plug the factory locking connector into the ASD Bypass harness and plug the locking connector on the ASD bypass harness into the amp.

the grey connector to the amp unplug. plug the grey connector to the harness and the harness into the amp

don't forget to ziptip the harness down in the little hole to keep it from bouncing around and rattling in there

Yup! Exactly what I found

For future installers:

Let's get this right. This does NOT need to be done with recent and current harnesses. Also, the rear rubber seal, which was a bane to most installers who didnt know this, does NOT need to be removed thereby avoiding the problem some have had putting it back:
