New Alfa GTV announced

Pretty cool. Looks like a direct competitor to the M2!

Looks good indeed, I want to see more and tech data as well.

But if it starts in the $50k range with the 4 banger Iím a bit apprehensive to see the MSRP of the TT V6

Wow, that thing looks like an Italian M2. That turbo V6 must scream. I definitely need to test drive one of those.

I clicked on the link in the article, What We Know about the 2 door Giulia. C&D is guestimating that it will be 10-15% higher than the Quadrifoglio's price of $75,295.

Looks like it's more of a M4 competitor than a M2.

Agreed. If you're nearly the price on an M2C but your standard motor is a 4 cylinder making 280hp than you can keep it.

I'm guessing they'll be auto-only in the U.S. as well.

The supercar 8C got canned as well...

The 4C coupe also got canned cause it wasn't selling very well...

To be honest if the 4C had a 6 speed manual I would have bought one and so would many other people I know...they had a sports car focus vision 6-7 years ago but the execution of their stupid management stuffed up everything.

Now they are turning their back on sports car and onto SUVs and perhaps EVs...boring

I will never buy any car from them going forward...their track record shows they are unable to commit to making exciting sports car which really was their true heritage.

The lack of manual was one of the most head scratching moves i've ever seen a car company make.

I get the appeal of a DCT, it's faster and real world better than a manual. It's perfectly suited to supercars and stuff like the GT-R. But a bantamweight 250hp sports car? I'd think something like that would be all about feel and connection even at the cost of outright speed. And in fact, Alfa went with no power steering for the car, a choice that again spoke to feel over speed and convenience. No manual was just such a weird choice for that car. Oh well. At least it's not the only tiny, mid-engined sports car that weighs nothing and will break all the time.

It didnt help that at least in here in the Netherlands they sold the 4C like it was a damn Ferrari.

I wanted one, but the dealer was an ass and on top they charged 250E for a test drive. I understand a lot of people waste their time but that was redic. I never had to pay for any M or the like test drives.

Also the suspension setup on the 1st series was supposedly shit. Cant wait till I can buy one for 20k.

Nope, hard pass. Alfas and Maseratis, in my view, are an absolute nightmare to service. And never driven one- only need to review sample set of peers that share their ownership experiences.

Gorgeous cars no doubt. however, beauty is skin deep- someone still has to put up w/ their bs.
