Agreed, but now all M2 variants are out of production. A few months ago you could still find new ones. Also factor in the M2 is one of the most desirable/hyped sports cars on the market.
I have a feeling prices are going to stay pretty solid until new production starts. |

I mean that does bring the price up a bit, 763s are not cheap but this black shadow edition, although cool its not that special apart from there is only x amount in the world. Id wait and see, if they can't sell it they will drop the price and if they got closer to 45k and being the black shadow (the wheels alone are much nicer) it might be worth it.

On the OG? Probably not forever. Base sticker was $52500 in 2017 and $54500 in 2018. Low miles won't happen because of the age of the cars, but we will certainly see many M2s in the low 40s once the mania dies down and mileage ticks up. This isn't an M2 phenomenon; used prices are up on almost every car by a huge amount and people are paying over sticker for a Kia Telluride...

$50k is high for a regular OG with 30k miles - in normal times. It's not insane for a Black Shadow edition I guess considering it's a 2018 with MSRP of about $63k. The problem is that just about all of what added to the sticker price of that car is cosmetic.

Has anyone been able to haggle down the prices on the OG M2's? |

I recently purchased 2017 M2 with 7800Km for $58,000 thinking I got a good deal for a newish car…
Looking at this thread tells me otherwise.. I don’t regret buying it because I have been actively looking into getting one for awhile, but it still hurts I bought it when the prices are at high point 😓 Im in Vancouver if anyone is wondering. |

I might sell mine to a dealer next week .. need to put together a for sale post and give bimmerpost a chance first, but its hard to argue with the current value. Bought it for $41.5k last September, with 20,000 miles.
2018 M2 Grey Executive Package Euro Bumper (no reflectors) GC Camber Plates KW V3 Coilovers Ceramic Coating $49k, now has 31,000 miles. insane

Black chrome exhaust tips, black trim everywhere, 763's, carbon fiber mirrors, carbon fiber diffuser .. pretty sure that is it.

I've been in the market for an OG LCI M2 since it came out and been trying to penny pinch a Mineral Grey spec for a while along with an MPE. Couple years later and they stopped production of the MG from M2C onwards and I think its a decent bet to have the OG M2 in MG in the long run (especially since I enjoy that color the most).
Now to the juice - found a 2018 in MG with 23k miles and it had 20k worth of factory installed M performance parts. Listing them out below MG Exec pkg DCT M Driver's pkg (higher top speed, and 1 track day - not sure if this was redeemed) CF front winglets CF side winglets black front kidney grilles black side grilles CF mirror caps 763Ms with new Cup2 rubber M performance interior pkg (CF shift knob, CF handbrake, alcantara and leather wrapped steering wheel, CF steering wheel center trim) M performance exhaust with CF tips Additional bonuses - full front ppf (hood, front fender, front bumper, mirror caps, side rocker panels, rear bumper) Only missing CF NOT from factory sticker is the CF diffuser Downsides below 3 previous owners (1st owner drove 18k mi, 2nd owner drove 2k mi, 3rd owner drove 2k mi) Dealer is asking for 55k (mainly b/c this is located in Bay Area, Cali - car has always been in Cali) 6 months of factory warranty remaining Would appreciate all of your honest thoughts here. I know this is so overpriced but the M performance parts, if parted out, would be worth about 7k conservatively - but it'll net me 5k since I will need to replace these perf parts with stock parts that I'll need to purchase. Long term, I think the condition of the paint will hold really well thanks to the ppf and the fact that its MG (discontinued color on M2 now) may be a good bet now |

I'm very hesitant to buy used sports cars in general due to how some people tend to abuse them. Modding it…I'm even more suspicious. 3 previous owners and two only kept for 2,000 miles?…super suspicious (to me.) I would definitely get a good mechanic to check it out with a fine toothed comb.
If it checks out then buy it if you are okay with the price. |

I’m getting a 2018 Mineral Grey manual delivered on Monday. Under 15K miles, $50,000 through Carvana. It’s a 1 owner, local car serviced at my dealer, I was able to verify that it had regular maintenance, and the only warranty repair has been a bulb replacement. Thinking it’s a pretty good deal in the current market.

I've been on the fence now for awhile about selling my 2017 M2. It is my weekend driver and I only have about 6600 miles on it. Obviously it is my garage queen and don't drive her much. I submitted a price request to Carvana a few months ago and again recently and their offer went from ~46k to ~48k. It's crazy to think if I try selling it on my own that I could probably get what I paid for it 4 years ago. Very tempting.

Just for context, I purchased a 2018 M2 this last weekend for $55,900. It was a one owner with only 8,000 miles, manual transmission, executive package, carbon fiber mirrors, carbon fiber rear lip spoiler, and all service records provided by BMW dealership. Surely this would be considered overpriced by the standard 2 years ago, but I am quite pleased with the car and the price in today's market. I also had peace of mind with the purchase because I don't plan on ever selling the car, so I'm not terribly upset if I slightly "overpaid."

I'm in Ontario - also picked up an off-lease, one-owner '18 OG M2 LCI in MG with M performance exhaust in Nov. Had 33,000 mi. and balance of factory warranty. Paid equivalent of $43000 US (plus taxes). Any M2's in my area that were cheaper had multiple owners and $4K+ in previous body damage!
There is a LBB with low km for sale and dealer just lowered price by $4K CAN (was asking $62Can initially). Will be curious to see what happens to prices in spring?

How would you compare a brand new M240i ($52,000 delivered with good specs) vs a '17/18 M2 (OG/LCI) for about the same price? 45-50K.
Is this crazy hype about the non-comp M2 justified when you can buy a 2022 vehicle, faster and with way better tech for the same money? (uglier though) I feel hard to justify 45K for 5 year old cars. |
