I just finished installing an Android screen replacement. Looks great, it doesn't need any coding. Can switch back to OEM screen and give's it a fast touch screen and access to Carplay, Android apps, Youtube, and video watching.

Anyone that wants to do this, I recommend it.

Whats the difference between the carplay setup between 2016 and 2017? I heard late production prelci 2017 cars had the hardware for carplay from the factory so does it make it easier to upgrade?

Only difference is what istep version the car is running. Full screen CarPlay may require updating istep versions but it’s just an extra step for the coder. No additional cost, just 10 more minutes of work.

But wouldnt the hardware between the 2 impact performance?
