2000 Miles in, What in the world is this noise?!

Was pulling out of the driveway this morning and suddenly started hearing like a piece of metal was dragging across the ground. Got out of the car, nothing there. Sound went away then few minutes later, came back as I was turning onto the freeway.

Scheduled in for service tomorrow, but man, I've had to take in this car twice now within the past two months, very frustrating.

IMO, that sounds like you possibly got a rock stuck between the caliper and the wheel.

Known issue from what I've heard when you get the stones stuck between the calipers.

It's 100% a rock between caliper and wheel. Have had literally the same, so has my father on his M340i. It's the exact same sound.

Yikes, there's gonna be some deep scratches in the wheel well.

I have a DEEP groove in one of my 788s and I never even heard it. Got it backing up so it couldn't have been there very long either. Heard another on the track with my 763s that went on for a while but that hardly left anything. I guess you never know...

JEM3: What was the issue? Did you hear back from the dealer?
